GreenFest Tik Tok Fashion Challenge

9:26am-4:00pm

Starting April 14th, students can submit their Tik Tok videos under the hashtag #ourrootsintertwined of their best thrifted pieces and submissions will close Wednesday  April 21st at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced at the Next in Sustainable Fashion event on April 23rd. Participants will be entered to win a $25 gift card to a sustainable fashion brand. One winner will be selected for each category. GreenFest: Homegrown Eats!

6:00pm-7:30pm

Join us for a sustainable cooking event! Sonali Sadequee, Founder of Sustainable Wellness will lead a 30-minute presentation on the sustainability and nutrition of plant based food, followed by a 1.5 hour cooking demonstration. Menu will be prepared beforehand, allowing participants to buy the ingredients and cook alongside. One lucky attendee will be selected to join a VIP Meet & Greet with Bill Nye on April 30 at 6:00 p.m. PDT.

GreenFest: Before the Plate Movie Screening

8:00pm-9:30pm

Aztec Nights is hosting a movie night showing Before The Plate. Before the Plate follows John Horne, one of Canada's most renowned chefs, as he traces the ingredients from a single plate of food from his restaurant all the way back to the farms they came from. All Students must register in advance to attend. Student registrants must have a COVID-19 PCR test administered 3-7 days before the event. Students can get tested at Student Health Services or any SD County testing site. If not tested at Student Health Services, students must upload their documented results into HealtheConnect. Click here to register Facial Coverings will be required. Physical distancing will be observed.

GreenFest: Next in Sustainable Fashion

Are you aware of the harmful environmental and social implications of fast fashion production and disposal? Jazmine Rodgers is a San Diego based sustainable fashion + lifestyle advocate who uses her platform to discuss living a low impact lifestyle in a fun and graceful way. Find her on Instagram, Youtube, and Tiktok, @thatcurlytop, for low-waste tips, ethical outfits, and sustainable memes.  Winners of the Tik Tok Fashion Challenge will be announced and one lucky attendee will be selected to join a VIP Meet & Greet with Bill Nye on April 30 at 6:00 p.m. PDT.

With the current pandemic and constant stress from work, school, etc., you can easily forget to take care of yourself -- a self-care night is needed! This event will be a time for students to relax and partake in self-care activities and practices, such as a guided meditation or yoga, breathing exercises, a self-care routine, and more, all of which can help reduce stress and enhance their overall well-being.

Finals De-Stress event: Collab with ARC to host a safe-to-do at-home yoga, bootcamp, HIIT, or boxing class. Students will work up their self-defense while also having a break from studying.
