PURPOSE OF THE FIRST YEAR INITIATIVE
The First-Year Leadership Initiative (FLI) is a student-to-student leadership program for SDSU first-time freshmen and transfer students, where they will learn about Associated Students (A.S) and how to become an active leader within A.S. and the University.
The eight-week programs consists of weekly meetings where members undergo workshops and interactive presentations to build-up their strengths and grow their leadership. The purpose of FLI is for its members to have an understanding of Associated Students and develop both personally and professionally.
SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A STUDENT-AT-LARGE BOARD/COMMITTEE MEMBER
Education: Must be regularly enrolled SDSU student, carrying at least six units per semester.

SCHEDULE & WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a volunteer position (10-15 hours/week), expected hours to be worked during business hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking around campus. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
This position requires the individual to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. This person will also spend time filing and have to do some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time, including banker boxes and files.
