Temporary Policy Changes to A.S. funding guidelines

The following is available to all Recognized Cultural Organizations, College Council’s and their Academic Organizations, A.S. Boards and Committees

1. Student Engagement incentives

Available to: Cultural RSO’s, College Council’s and their Academic Organizations.

Policy amendments for 2020-21 Academic Year:

As part of engaging students to encourage participation at weekly meetings – RSO’s will be allowed to conduct opportunity drawings during their meetings.  Winners will be awarded an e-gift card to one of the following:  Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and Subway. Gift Card purchases must be processed through Associated Students.

Submit a Check Request and e-Gift Card Request form to (as.RSObanking@sdsu.edu) after selecting the gift card recipients.

Maximum amount per student - $10.00. Maximum amount per general body meeting - $20.00.

Maximum amount to be awarded per academic year: $500.00 (50 gift cards) or remaining RSO budget, whichever is less.

2. Student Organization Community Development Events:

Available to:  Cultural RSO’s, College Council’s and their Academic Organizations

Food for community development event is allowed.  Food delivery services from GrubHub must be processed through Associated Students.

Submit a Check Request and e-Gift Card Request form to (as.RSObanking@sdsu.edu) minimum of 5 business days prior to your event.

Maximum amount per attendee: $20.00.

Maximum amount of food per academic year: $1,200 or remaining RSO budget, whichever is less.

3. Use of e-gift cards at one regular meeting

Available to: College Councils, A.S. Boards and Committees

At one virtual meeting per semester, College Councils, A.S. Boards and Committees are allowed to purchase e-gift cards to provide to student members so that they may purchase food and or refreshments to be brought to the meeting. Gift Card purchases must be processed through Associated Students.

Purchase from: Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and Subway.

Submit a Check Request and e-Gift Card Request form to (as.RSObanking@sdsu.edu) minimum of 5 business days prior to your event.

Maximum amount per student, per event: $10.00.

Maximum amount to be awarded per academic year: $500.00 (50 gift cards) or RSO budget whichever is less.  

The following funding opportunities are available to all Recognized Student Organizations

1. Campus Program Funding

Maximum award amount per Recognized Student Organization - $3,000 / per year. 

Policy may be amended if in-person events allowed during academic year

Total Program Budget for academic year: $110,000

Policy amendments for 2020-21 Academic Year:

CPF application must be submitted no later than 8 weeks prior to the event date CPF application must be submitted no later than 4 weeks prior to a virtual event.

Option 1: Food delivery services from GrubHub must be processed through Associated Students.

Maximum amount per attendee: $20.00

Option 2: Use of e-gift cards for food is also permitted.  E-gift cards to Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and Subway are allowed and must be purchased through Associated Students.

Maximum amount of e-gift card per student, per event: $10.00.

Submit a Check Request and e-Gift Card Request form to (as.RSObanking@sdsu.edu) minimum of 5 business days prior to your event.

 

2. A.S. Travel Awards

Maximum award amount per Recognized Student Organization - $900 /per year

Policy may be amended if in-person events allowed during academic year.

Total Program budget amount for academic year:  $23,000

Policy amendments for 2020-21 Academic Year:

Must travel outside San Diego County Award can be used for registration fees to virtual professional development events.

 

FAQ

Why do all purchases have to be done through A.S.?

What about other establishments that do not sell alcohol & tobacco, can purchases be made from them?
