I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Vice President of University Affairs Trinity Dang called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.

VI. PRESENTATIONS AND UNIVERSITY REPORTS

    1. University Senate Designee - None.
    2. Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee - None.
    3. SDSU Symposium - Dr. Hala Madanat, Vice President for Research & Innovation (Time Certain 3:45 p.m.): 
      Advocated for undergraduate research opportunities in diverse array of academic areas as well as outside of STEM and informed about the SDSU Student Symposium (S3), a showcase of student discovery and innovation on February 28, 2025.

VII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

VIII. INTRODUCTION OF NEW LEGISLATIVE MATTERS 

None.

IX. REPORTS OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

    1. College of Arts and Letters Student Council: They are still in the process of planning a CAL Career Fair, also partnering with sustainability. Aside, they are changing their college logo to a red color.
    2. College of Education Student Council: Discussion around a potential College of Education Career Fair. They also held a meeting with an industry relations coordinator with Career Services to kickstart the career fair.
    3. College of Engineering Student Council: Introduced a new member, Hidaya Saban.
    4. College of Sciences Student Council: Held a successful DEI Panel and their representative, Aadi Bery, requested guidance on how to give A.S. reports during University Senate meetings moving forward. 
    5. SDSU Imperial Valley: Revisited issues around safety on their campus.

X. EXECUTIVE REPORTS

    1. Kat Hernandez, A.S. President: 
      1. The Safety Town Hall will be on November 21st, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Montezuma Hall. 
    2. Tajuddin Henry, A.S. Executive Vice President: 
      1. Advocated for anyone to sit in on Campus Life Council meetings if they wish.
    3. Derrick Herrera, A.S. Vice President of External Relations:
      1. Thanked everyone for the Rock the Vote campaign and outreach.
      2. Currently utilizing the Presidential Global Democracy Fund to open dialogue about understanding rights and other campus climate topics and issues.
      3. The Cal State Plenary is this weekend and he will be discussing Title IX and Safety topics regarding recent campus situations. 
      4. He was approached by a senior consultant in the Cal State Assembly to discuss the recent SDSU Halloween weekend events.
    4. Vincent Lin, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs: 
      1. Aztecs Rock Hunger was a success and he thanked everyone for their contributions.
      2. He has been combing through data and working on the Student Success Fee.
    5. Trinity Dang, A.S. Vice President of University Affairs: 
      1. Yesterday, she attended the Campus Lighting and Safety Walk and pointed out improvements in lighting and safety. 
      2. Community Connect is happening right now until 6pm in the Student Union.
      3. Sign up for Flex/Fast Track.
      4. If anyone is experiencing emotional distress after the events on Halloweend weekend, refer them to SDSU Counseling and Psychological Services.
    6. Christina Brown, A.S. Executive Director:
      1. President Adela de la Torre is hosting a mixer on December 3rd, 2024 with mainly students and a few administrators. It is focused on Guardian Scholars and Educational Opportunities Program students. 
      2. December 11th, 2024 is the next All-Council meeting. After the meeting is dinner at BJ’s.

XI. BOARD OF DIRECTOR STUDENT AT LARGE REPORTS

    1. Nora Novak, Board of Directors Student-At-Large: She detailed two sheets with times of panels with Flex and Fast Track students.

XII. ANNOUNCEMENTS

    1. The Middle Eastern and North African student organization (MENA) is having a social on the following Tuesday.
