I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Vice President of University Affairs, Ally Gallant, called the meeting to order at 3:38 p.m.

II. ROLL CALL

III. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda for April 24, 2024.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS 

  1. University Senate Designee, Dr. Murdock: Dr. Murdock is not running for Vice Chair of the University Senate reelection. Within two weeks the University Senate committee will hold elections. A new Vice Chair representative will likely be appointed to A.S. University Council. 
  2. Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee, Dr. Randy Timm: No report. 
  3. Graduation Fee Presentation - Stefan Hyman, Associate Vice President of Enrollment (Time Certain 3:45 p.m.)

VII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

  1. General Consent Agenda (Action)
    It was moved and seconded to approve the General Consent Agenda.

    Ally led an end of year reflection discussion.

VIII. REPORTS OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Ally Gallant, Vice President of University Affairs: Next Wednesday is the final All-Council meeting. Tomorrow is the Aztec Achievement Awards. 
  2. Tarek Morsy, President: Extremely happy with how this year has gone and all of the good work all A.S. members have done. Thank you for making A.S. stand out and do great work during University Council meetings. 
  3. Sam Lingao, Executive Vice President: Expressed overall enthusiasm for sitting on University Council for this year. Sitting on the Blue Ribbon Task Force and the committee will be submitting recommendations to the University President. Working with Dr.Randy Timm on various important task forces. Encouraged everyone to complete the sexual violence climate survey. Reminded Representatives to fill out course evaluations. 
  4. Melvin Ridley III, Vice President of External Relations: Attended a Good Neighbor clean up this past weekend. Preparing for CSSA elections and the CSSA Plenary. Handling final transition documents and preparing to be sworn out. 
  5. Leo Pena, Vice President of Financial Affairs: ‘Thursdays-Together’ tomorrow will be a surprise. 
  6. Christina Brown, Executive Director: This year has been extremely fun and those who will be graduating will be missed. 
  7. Sam Ramtin, Government Affairs Coordinator: No report. 
  8. Palni Bhatt, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  9. Derrick Herrera, ASBOD Student-At-Large: It has been a great year and everyone did really great work especially during the first part of the semester during the resolution process. 
  10. Alex Inglis, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  11. College of Arts and Letters: Filled all positions on the executive board besides the VP of Finance. Tabling at Explore SDSU was successful. 
  12. College of Business: No report.
  13. College of Education: No report. 
  14. College of Engineering: No report. 
  15. College of Health and Human Services: No report.  
  16. College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts: Filled the VP of Finance position today. Held an inspirational luncheon and passed out awards for various individuals and recognized student organizations. Hosting a bowling social at Aztec Lanes next Wednesday. Transitioning to a new board next Wednesday. 
  17. College of Sciences: Held elections for President, Executive Vice President, VP of Finance, and A.S. Representatives. Still looking for a fourth and final A.S. Representative. Next Monday there will be a farewell banquet at 7 p.m. 
  18. Graduate Student Association: No report. 
  19. Undeclared College Council: No report. 

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS 

Sam Lingao announced that ASUB will be hosting a final’s remedy event next week during finals. ASUB is currently hosting a jungle jam downstairs in the courtyard from 6-9 p.m.
