I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Vice President of University Affairs, Ally Gallant, called the meeting to order at 3:38 p.m.

II. ROLL CALL

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS 

  1. University Senate Designee, Dr. Murdock: There have been two important resolutions that have been passed in the University Senate, one regarding a rise of Anti-Ssemitism and the other relating to an Anti-Palestinian and Anti-Arab sentiment on SDSU’s campus. The University Senate elections will be at the next University Senate meeting in May. 
  2. Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee, Dr. Randy Timm: No report. 
  3. California General Education Transfer Curriculum Update - Dr. Madhavi McCall, Associate Vice President, Curriculum, Assessment & Accreditation (Time Certain 3:45 p.m.)

VIII. REPORTS OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Ally Gallant, Vice President of University Affairs: Served on the College of Arts and Letters Dean search committee, the final three recommendations have been sent to the University President and Provost. Tarek Morsy and Ally Gallant will be speaking at an AI Summit this upcoming Friday. Encouraged council members start planning their transitions for the incoming representatives. 
  2. Tarek Morsy, President: Career Advantage has been moving in a positive direction. In current negotiations with Career Services to determine their relationship with Career Advantage. Presenting at the AI Summit with Ally Gallant on Friday. 
  3. Sam Lingao, Executive Vice President: ExploreSDSU is this weekend and Associated Students will be tabling and giving two presentations. Aztec Achievement Awards will be in two weeks. Looking for an individual to serve on the One SDSU Committee. The final All Council meeting will be 5/1 where the swear out and swear will occur. The A.S. Study Abroad scholarship review deadline is approaching, giving a reminder to all representatives to complete their assigned essay reviews. Campus Life Council commissions are hosting multiple events throughout the rest of the school semester.
  4. Melvin Ridley III, Vice President of External Relations: No report. 
  5. Leo Pena, Vice President of Financial Affairs: ‘Thursdays-Together’ tomorrow will be Einstein Bagels, and Chipotle will be next week. 
  6. Christina Brown, Executive Director: Hoping to make the Associated Students website more clear regarding the difference on appointed positions and unfilled University Council representative positions. 
  7. Sam Ramtin, Government Affairs Coordinator: No report. 
  8. Palni Bhatt, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  9. Derrick Herrera, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  10. Alex Inglis, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  11. College of Arts and Letters: Preparing for College of Arts and Letters executive elections. Having presentations from the College of Arts and Letters faculty about career readiness courses. 
  12. College of Business: No report.
  13. College of Education: No report. 
  14. College of Engineering: No report. 
  15. College of Health and Human Services: No report.  
  16. College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts: Held executive board elections in the last general body meeting. Finished a canned food drive for the Wesley House. Planning a luncheon event for recognized student organizations to transition their executive board members for next year. Planning a bowling social event for College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts students as an end of the year event. 
  17. College of Sciences: Meeting tomorrow with the College of Sciences Dean to discuss the remodeling of Life Sciences North. 
  18. Graduate Student Association: No report. 
  19. Undeclared College Council: Looking for representatives to join the Undeclared College Council next year. 

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS 

  1. Nick Felix announced that there is a GoFundme for the victims of a car crash who were members of the SDSU Ski team and encouraged people to donate if possible. 
  2. Sam Lingao announced that there is an open microphone night put on by the Aztec Student Union Board in the courtyard right now. 
  3. Anna Arbuckle asked a question regarding the Appointments and Review Committee scheduling. 
  4. Palni Bhatt announced that IGNITE SDSU is hosting a Women in Politics event on Friday from 11-2 p.m. in Templo Mayor.
