I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Vice President of University Affairs, Ally Gallant, called the meeting to order at 3:37 p.m.

Public comments were made regarding the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and Israel and student safety concerns regarding the increase in Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism.

IX. REPORTS OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Ally Gallant, Vice President of University Affairs: The Your Voice Matters (YVM) push week is scheduled for 2/26-3/1. There will be a Your Voice Matters/Career Advantage career panel on Wednesday, 3/6 with prominent companies to network with. Looking for students to attend the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit. 
  2. Tarek Morsy, President: No report. 
  3. Sam Lingao, Executive Vice President: There will be no ‘Thursday’s Together’ this week and instead on Friday Imperial Valley campus representatives will be visiting. Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s event. The Aztec Achievement Award application is open. Looking for students to participate in Explore SDSU on 4/13. 
  4. Melvin Ridley III, Vice President of External Relations: No report. 
  5. Leo Pena, Vice President of Financial Affairs: No report. 
  6. Christina Brown, Executive Director: Be aware of a mandatory elections meeting next week for those who applied to run in A.S. elections. 
  7. Sam Ramtin, Government Affairs Coordinator: No report. 
  8. Palni Bhatt, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  9. Derrick Herrera, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  10. Alex Inglis, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  11. College of Arts and Letters: Hoping to elect the third A.S. Representative at the next general body meeting. Recently had a presentation about undergraduate research in the College of Arts and Letters. Getting organizations to table at Explore SDSU. 
  12. College of Business: No meetings for the past two weeks. Working on preparing for upcoming elections. 
  13. College of Education: No report. 
  14. College of Engineering: No report. 
  15. College of Health and Human Services: No report.  
  16. College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts: The PSFA showcase event that has been planned has unfortunately been canceled but the career fair is still being planned for 3/15. 
  17. College of Sciences: The fourth A.S. Representatives have been elected. Planning to hold a DEI Town Hall on 3/6 during their general body meeting. Urged College of Science students to fill out a review of the college dean for the five year review. 
  18. Graduate Student Association: No report. 
  19. Undeclared College Council: No report. 

X. ANNOUNCEMENTS 

 Nick Felix announced that the Dance Marathon fundraiser will be on Saturday in Montezuma Hall. Derrick Herrera announced a collaboration with the Native Resource Center and Greenlove, the event will be on 2/28 and it will be a “Harmony of Healing” circle.
