VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

A. University Senate Designee, Dr. Marissa Vasquez: Gave a brief introduction of herself and apologized for missing last week's meeting. 

B. University Vice President for Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Randy Timm: There will be a PeopleSoft conversion on campus, the next step will be switching course registration and advising to the new platform. Spring class registration has been pushed back to 11/28 and there will be an email to students explaining further information about the registration delay. Students this past weekend unknowingly ingested Fentanyl which is a drug that was previously unknown in our SDSU community. There will be an expansion of the Naloxone (Narcan) program where students who complete the program receive 1-2 doses of Narcan, which can reverse the effects of Fentanyl overdose. 

C. Presentation on Restorative Practices - Dr. Aniesha Mitchell, Senior Associate Vice President, Campus Diversity (Time Certain 3:45 p.m.): Dr. Aniesha Mitchell provided information about SDSU’s student conduct policy and restorative justice.

It was moved and seconded to approve the general consent agenda.

B. General Consent Report (Information): The general consent report was reviewed.
C. Selection of University Council Members to Serve on the ASJAC Vacancy Ad-Hoc Committee (Action):
It was moved and second to select Ethan Shelden as the primary and Nina Go as the secondary for the ASJAC Vacancy Ad-Hoc Committee.

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

A. Sandy Mekany, Vice President of University Affairs: No report. 
B. Shawki Moore, President:

  • Encouraged the A.S. leaders to RSVP for the upcoming A.S. event on 10/07.
  • After the meeting, the A.S. leaders will be meeting in parking lot 2A to carpool to the A.S. Leaders' Reception at 5:15 p.m.

C. Meena Alexander, Executive Vice President: No report. 
D. Robson Winter, Vice President of External Relations: No report. 
E. Sophia Koch, Vice President of Financial Affairs: No report. 
F. Christina Brown, Executive Director: No report. 
G. Brandon Bartosh, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
H. Ava Walker, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
I. Grace DeVega, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
J. College of Arts and Letters:

  • A position within CAL has opened, the VP of Community Engagement.

College of Business:

  • The tabling event CBC held near the SDSU Love Library went very well and had great engagement.
  • CBC is looking to update their website.
  • CBC is looking into how to monitor and encourage RSO’s to attend CBC meetings, as well as the RSO’s are finding it difficult to hear back on funding for events and check account balances.

College of Education:

  • The CRP training event that has been planned was approved.
  • They are looking to update their website, Instagram, and the bulletin board in Lamden Hall.

College of Engineering:

  • There are three events coming up for the CESC: 10/19 is a STEM Career Fair, 10/22 is an SDSU outreach event to showcase and promote available RSOs to prospective students, and 10/27 is the annual CESC Pumpkin Drop event.

College of Health and Human Services:

  • Dean Hooker will be dying his hair red and black since the Heart and Stroke Walk event met their decided goal.
  • There will be a CHHS discussion panel with Health and Human Service professionals on 9/30.

College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts:

  • The Donuts with the Dean event occurred last Thursday
  • There are also two open positions on the PSFA Council: Representative and VP of Academic Affairs.

College of Sciences:

  • 9/7 was their college retreat that they reported went extremely well.
  • The CSSC is hoping to have a table expo on campus on 10/13.
  • The lab coat proposal discussion has been tabled for a later date and they reviewed the student success fee with the college council members.
  • There are open volunteer opportunities to work with the local middle schoolers in STEM programs, it was encouraged to reach out to representatives if interested.

Graduate Student Association: No report. 
Undeclared College College:

  • The UCC has been utilizing their social media platform for recruitment as well as working to fill an open freshman liaison position.
  • There will be an upcoming coffee with the council event.
