I.  CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Vice President of University Affairs, Jennifer Schenkenfelder, called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m.

II.  ROLL CALL

VIII.  INTRODUCTION OF NEW LEGISLATIVE MATTERS - None. 

IX.  REPORTS OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Jennifer Schenkenfelder, Vice President of University Affairs:  Met with the Dean’s meeting today with Ashley Tejada.  Working with College Council Presidents regarding Student Success Fee.  If you are interested in sitting on SSF, please contact me or Janice.  Will send out a transition guide to you all to share with your representatives.  I am here to assist if you need anything.
  2. Ashley Tejada, President:  University Senate added an A.S. report to the meeting agenda.  Attended a PBAC meeting and met with Adela de la Torre.  On 4/27 we will have an outgoing/incoming student leaders dinner.  Thank you for your advocacy regarding class schedules.  Attended Activity 8 and 13 meetings.  Celebrated the 125th anniversary and attended the Senate Executive Committee.  Provided an update regarding Senate voting.
  3. Karina Esteban, Executive Vice President:  Aztec Achievement Awards are on April 21.  Please RSVP.  GreenFest concert is this Friday, 4/8.  
  4. Shawki Moore, Vice President of External Relations: Rock the Vote events to come this month to promote the June primary, titled “Power to the People” series.  We will have ‘Sundaes and Social Media’ on 4/12 and ‘Brownies and Ballots’ on 4/26 at Scripps Cottage.  There will be Year of Community social media posts.
  5. Austin Barber, Vice President of Financial Affairs:  Reminder to submit the A.S. study abroad scholarships by April 8.  Approved in the A.S. Financial Affairs Committee - MBAC, ARC, and Sports Clubs budgets, and Business Services for 2022-23.  We have unallocated funds for this year for Colleges to use.  
  6. Christina Brown, Executive Director:  For college council executive board elections, please reach out to the reps who ran in the election.  Noah Hytken Memorial Fund basketball tournament will be held at the Viejas Arena on April 18.  Thank you for completing the study abroad scholarship recommendations.
  7. Beth Bridges, ASBOD Student-At-Large:  Counseling & Psychological Services is hiring new therapists.  Please reach out to me if you are interested.
  8. Alexia Oduro, ASBOD Student-At-Large: Met with the Director of SDSU Dining Services over the break.  
  9. Margot Ermer, ASBOD Student-At-Large:  Congratulations to Lex-O and Christina for Quest for the Best.
  10. College of Arts and Letters (CAL) Council:  Provided an update on outreach for executive board elections and bylaw amendment charters.  
  11. Fowler College of Business Council:  Business Achievement Awards are on 4/12. Applications are open for CBC executive board.
  12. College of Education Student Council:  Resource supply drive - will start collecting next week.  Organizing a Liberal Studies event.  The COESC exec board applications opened.  Having a tabling event with CAL and PSFA in the Union.
  13. College of Engineering Student Council:  Exec board election applications are open.  
  14. College of Health and Human Services Student Council (CHHSCC):  Elections apps are open and have an information session about the positions.  Working on EOY banquet and getting stoles for graduation.  
  15. College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts (PSFA) Student Council:  There is a club fair on 4/18 in the Union.  Working on the SSF event.  Working on the end of year banquet. 
  16. College of Sciences Student Council (CSSC):  Provided an update regarding the CSSC bylaw amendments.  Worked with a professor to receive lab coats and goggles for Sciences students.  
  17. Graduate Student Association (GSA): No report. 
  18. Undeclared College Council (UCC): No report.

X. ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Meena announced that Glazer Center for Leadership and Service will be having an Aztec Core retreat in May.  
  2. Kaelan announced the APIDA Grand Opening  is on 4/25 from 1-3 p.m. in the Union Courtyard.
  3. Kate announced that AB Samahan will have a Fil-Am Culture Night.  
  4. Alondra announced that LSU is having an event before the GreenFest concert.  Nora Vargas and Carlos Montez will be attending the event at 6:30 p.m. in Park Boulevard on Friday, 4/8.
