I. CALL TO ORDER
Vice President of Financial Affairs, Dustin Adkins, called the meeting to order at 5:09 PM.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS
- University Senate Designee, Dr. Nola Butler Byrd:
- Thanked A.S. for providing strong representation on all SDSU Senate Committees.
- The agenda was accepted at the last Senate meeting on October 2nd.
- Diversity, Equity and Outreach are working hard with Dr. Luke Wood to implement the resolutions passed to create a more inclusive and diverse campus.
- Interrupting Racism Workshop for statewide senators was on September 19th and there is a follow up workshop on November 8th.
- Created an anti-bias training pilot program that will begin trainings in January 2020.
- Briefly explained the Quantitative Reasoning Initiative and the controversy about it at the last Senate meeting.
- Encouraged members to keep their eyes and ears open about the ethnic studies requirement, AB 1460, which did not pass in the Senate.
- University Vice President for Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Andrea Dooley:
- 1Student Health services (SHS) is offering free flu vaccinations during the entire month of October as part of the Boo to the Flu campaign.
- Pro/Con statements for the two proposed fee increases in the alternative consultation process are due tomorrow. These statements will be published and are not anonymous.
- Initial open forums about the two proposed fee increases will begin next week. Forums begin October 21st and will run until November 15th.
- Reviewed requirements for RSOs to host the forums.

IX. REPORTS OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
- George Scott, Vice President of University Affairs: No report.
- Christian Onwuka, President: Kyla Blaylock reported on his behalf:
- Encouraging students to share information about the two proposed fee increases to their college councils and organizations.
- Conversations with the President went well.
- Looking for students to work on the MySDSU platform.
- Kyla Blaylock, Executive Vice President:
- Discussed the diversity/innovation statement at the Equity Council meeting last week in preparation for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Institute on October 25th.
- Filmed the video for Homecoming and thanked everyone who helped.
- Homecoming is November 4th-9th.
- Co-hosting the homecoming royals announcement this Wednesday.
- Gave an update about the shared governance meeting about communications.
- SDC Cultural Organizations will be tabling tomorrow in the courtyard from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.
- Will be speaking at the SDSU Family Weekend Brunch.
- Encouraged everyone to attend the football game this weekend.
- Attending the undergraduate council meeting on Monday about freedom of expression.
- Angie Espinoza, Vice President of External Relations:
- Acknowledged Disability Awareness Month, Filipino American History Month, and LGBT History Month and reminded members that RSOs are having events to celebrate.
- College Area Community Council (CACC) meeting is tonight. Will have updates soon.
- Reminded members that the Multi-cultural and RSO requirements are due November 1st at 4:00 pm.
- Will be registering voters during Family Weekend this Friday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
- More RSOs are joining the Know Your Rights Campaign.
- Will be sending University Council minutes to College Council Presidents to increase communications and accountability within the College Councils.
- Gathering data on instances of racial profiling to present to the University Police Department (UPD) in response to students’ concerns.
- Asked members to reach out to students who would be interested in speaking at the 2020 HSI Research, Collaboration, and Workforce Workshop.
- Dustin Adkins, Vice President of Financial Affairs:
- Aztecs Rock Hunger (ARH) is a week and a half away.
- The ARH campus partners meeting is tomorrow at 9:00 am.
- There will be several ARH fundraisers in the College Area Business District.
- Went to Assistant Deans’ meeting and reviewed AS funding opportunities and ways to reach students outside of RSOs with George Scott.
- Looking for representatives who can share ARH information with their college councils.
- Christina Brown, Executive Director:
- Christian is working on getting the word out about a paid internship on campus with the Instructional Technology Services (ITS) group.
- ENS Field grand opening was last week. Happy to see that students are using the field during the added hours.
- SDSU is working on campus-wide emergency trainings.
- Working with GreenLove on the solar panel project for the Aztec Recreation Center (ARC).
- Stephanie Estrada, ASBOD Student-at-Large:
- Local organizations will be speaking at the Human Rights Day event.
- Working with the selection committee for the 50th anniversary of EOP Award.
- Reminded members that October is Advising Month.
- 4Will be attending the Graduate Symposium next week. Would like to work on having more SDSU candidates at the symposium next year.
- Lee Abed, ASBOD Student-at-Large: No report.
- Sophie Chance, ASBOD Student-at-Large: No report.
- College of Arts and Letters:
- Working on updating the website.
- Created an event planning committee.
- Planning a spring showcase for all of the RSOs.
- College of Business:
- Dean is having lunch with the Business organizations.
- Website is up to date and there is now a feedback link.
- Calendar will be posted on the website next week.
- College of Education: No report.
- College of Engineering:
- Coffee with the Dean events are Tuesday, October 22nd and Tuesday, November 19th from 9:00 – 10:00 am.
- Shouted-out Angie for attending the Engineering Conference.
- College of Health and Human Services:
- Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is Sunday, October 20th.
- Students for Public Health will be selling t-shirts for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event on Campanile Walkway next week.
- College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts:
- Working on an Honors Banquet Meeting.
- College of Sciences:
- Hosting elections for the president soon. Vice president will be filling in until then.
- Graduate Student Association:
- Thesis dissertation panel event on October 24th.
- Planning a graduate student social at Eureka! for October 29th.
- ‘Grad Student’ was added as an option to the Campus Affiliation list on the Your Voice Matters website.
- Working on better healthcare benefits for graduate students.
- Undeclared College: No report.
