VII. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

1. University Senate Designee, Dr. Cezar Ornatowski: 
   1. There will be two members from the Board of Trustees on-campus on October 19.
   2. The former University President made a commitment to reduce the San Diego State University climate footprint.
   3. Discussed the parking permit situation that prohibits incoming freshmen students from having cars on campus.
   4. Executive Order 1100 has affected the ethnic studies courses.
2. University Vice President for Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Andrea Dooley: 
   1. Encouraged students ages 23 and younger to receive the Meningitis B vaccination from clinics on-campus.
3. Introduction of A.S. Business Services – Patty Rea, A.S. Associate Executive Director (Time Certain 4:45 pm): Postponed.

VIII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

1. General Consent Agenda (Action): 
   It was moved and seconded to approve the General Consent Agenda.

X. REPORTS OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

1. Ronnie Cravens, Vice President of University Affairs:
   1. University Affairs Board will meet next Tuesday at 2 pm.
   2. The Graduate and Professional School Fair will be tomorrow.
   3. The STEM Career Fair will take place October 24 from 10am-2:30 pm in Montezuma Hall.
   4. The College of Extended Studies will offer an eleven day winter session.
   5. There are currently six student-at-large positions on the University Senate available.
   6. Met with Dean McCarthy and toured the library.
2. Chris Thomas, President: 
   
   1. Reminded members of the Spring Registration Timeline. October is advising month!
   2. The Red and Black Shuttle will be available to students Monday – Friday from 5:30pm-midnight.
   3. The research foundation will have “The Big Ideas” campaign for corporate sponsorships.
3. Nickolas Wohlman, Executive Vice President: 
   1. Homecoming is next week! He expressed his needs for volunteers at the events.
   2. There will be Talent Show on Wednesday from 7-9 pm in Montezuma Hall.
   3. Discussed the Homecoming Pre-game event.
   4. Excited for Mental Health Week.
4. Michael Wiafe, Vice President of External Relations:
   1. Lobby Corps elected a new Vice Chair and Secretary.
   2. Will attend the College Area Community Council (CACC) meeting tonight.
   3. Will continue Rock the Vote.
   4. “Commute to the Polls” will take place at 11 am in the Commuter Resource Center.
   5. “Why I Vote” event will take place on October 22.
   6. “Grow with GreenFest” will have a Green Lunch Bag Series on October 24 to discuss sustainability and voting.
   7. There will be a College of Democrats, Republics, and other third parties debate on November 5.
   8. Attended the Regional Mobility Forum at California State University, Los Angeles last Friday.
5. Christian Onwuka, Vice President of Financial Affairs:
   1. Encouraged all members to donate to the Aztecs Rock Hunger (ARH) campaign.
6. Christina Brown, Executive Director: 
   1. Grateful for all councils! She emphasized the importance of students’ voices.
7. Tomi Osinfolarin, ASBOD Student-at-Large: None.
8. Latrel Powell, ASBOD Student-at-Large: 
   1. Attended the California State Student Association (CSSA).
   2. Will organize a “Party at the Polls” even to increase voter turn-out.
   3. The Mortar Board Merit Scholarship is due Friday at 3 pm.
   4. Extended himself as a resource to all colleges.
9. Warsan Artan, ASBOD Student-at-Large: 
   1. Will continue to reach out to colleges regarding the “Rock the Vote” campaign.
   2. Will serve on the Mental Health Week leadership team.
10. College of Arts and Letters: 
    1. Will select a student or faculty of the month.
    2. Will plan a board retreat.
    3. There is an open position for a lecturer in the College of Arts and Letters.
    4. “Coffee with the Girls” will take place every Wednesday from 2-3 pm.
    5. Will collaborate with the College of Sciences.
    6. Gave an update on the “salary negotiating” event.
    7. Met with President Adela last Friday to discuss transparency about college courses.
11. College of Business: 
    1. None.
12. College of Education: 
    1. In the process of planning to invite Michelle Obama as a guest speaker next semester at Viejas Arena.
13. College of Engineering:
    1. The Pumpkin Drop event will be on October 22.
    2. Will attend the National Engineering Conference.
    3. Will collaborate with the College of Business and the College of Undeclared on November 2.
14. College of Health and Human Services: 
    1. Encouraged members to receive the Meningitis B vaccination.
15. College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts:
    1. The “Lend a Hand” campaign will take place from November 5-30.
16. College of Sciences:
    1. October is STEM month!
    2. Will plan for the “Discover Your Dream” event in March.
    3. Will collaborate with the College of Engineering and College of Business.
17. Graduate Student Association:
    1. Discussed graduate student issues such as mental health, housing insecurity, etc.
    2. There will be a Costume Social Halloween Mixer Wednesday, October 17 at Eureka from 5-7 pm.
18. Undeclared College:
    1. Will plan a mentoring event on October 15.
    2. Will collaborate with the College of Engineering and College of Business.
