Vice President of University Affairs Ronnie Cravens called the meeting to order at 4:52 PM.

VII. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS
- University Senate Designee, Dr. Cezar Ornatowski:
- There will be two members from the Board of Trustees on-campus on October 19.
- The former University President made a commitment to reduce the San Diego State University climate footprint.
- Discussed the parking permit situation that prohibits incoming freshmen students from having cars on campus.
- Executive Order 1100 has affected the ethnic studies courses.
- University Vice President for Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Andrea Dooley:
- Encouraged students ages 23 and younger to receive the Meningitis B vaccination from clinics on-campus.
- Introduction of A.S. Business Services – Patty Rea, A.S. Associate Executive Director (Time Certain 4:45 pm): Postponed.
VIII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION
- General Consent Agenda (Action):
It was moved and seconded to approve the General Consent Agenda.
BLUTINGER/HARMS CARRIED - General Consent Report (Information): The general consent report was reviewed via electronic copy. For further reference please request a printed copy of the General Consent Report copy from the Government Secretary.
IX. INTRODUCTION OF NEW LEGISLATIVE MATTERS

X. REPORTS OF UNIVERSITY COUNCIL MEMBERS
- Ronnie Cravens, Vice President of University Affairs:
- University Affairs Board will meet next Tuesday at 2 pm.
- The Graduate and Professional School Fair will be tomorrow.
- The STEM Career Fair will take place October 24 from 10am-2:30 pm in Montezuma Hall.
- The College of Extended Studies will offer an eleven day winter session.
- There are currently six student-at-large positions on the University Senate available.
- Met with Dean McCarthy and toured the library.
- Chris Thomas, President:
- Reminded members of the Spring Registration Timeline. October is advising month!
- The Red and Black Shuttle will be available to students Monday – Friday from 5:30pm-midnight.
- The research foundation will have “The Big Ideas” campaign for corporate sponsorships.
- Nickolas Wohlman, Executive Vice President:
- Homecoming is next week! He expressed his needs for volunteers at the events.
- There will be Talent Show on Wednesday from 7-9 pm in Montezuma Hall.
- Discussed the Homecoming Pre-game event.
- Excited for Mental Health Week.
- Michael Wiafe, Vice President of External Relations:
- Lobby Corps elected a new Vice Chair and Secretary.
- Will attend the College Area Community Council (CACC) meeting tonight.
- Will continue Rock the Vote.
- “Commute to the Polls” will take place at 11 am in the Commuter Resource Center.
- “Why I Vote” event will take place on October 22.
- “Grow with GreenFest” will have a Green Lunch Bag Series on October 24 to discuss sustainability and voting.
- There will be a College of Democrats, Republics, and other third parties debate on November 5.
- Attended the Regional Mobility Forum at California State University, Los Angeles last Friday.
- Christian Onwuka, Vice President of Financial Affairs:
- Encouraged all members to donate to the Aztecs Rock Hunger (ARH) campaign.
- Christina Brown, Executive Director:
- Grateful for all councils! She emphasized the importance of students’ voices.
- Tomi Osinfolarin, ASBOD Student-at-Large: None.
- Latrel Powell, ASBOD Student-at-Large:
- Attended the California State Student Association (CSSA).
- Will organize a “Party at the Polls” even to increase voter turn-out.
- The Mortar Board Merit Scholarship is due Friday at 3 pm.
- Extended himself as a resource to all colleges.
- Warsan Artan, ASBOD Student-at-Large:
- Will continue to reach out to colleges regarding the “Rock the Vote” campaign.
- Will serve on the Mental Health Week leadership team.
- College of Arts and Letters:
- Will select a student or faculty of the month.
- Will plan a board retreat.
- There is an open position for a lecturer in the College of Arts and Letters.
- “Coffee with the Girls” will take place every Wednesday from 2-3 pm.
- Will collaborate with the College of Sciences.
- Gave an update on the “salary negotiating” event.
- Met with President Adela last Friday to discuss transparency about college courses.
- College of Business:
- None.
- College of Education:
- In the process of planning to invite Michelle Obama as a guest speaker next semester at Viejas Arena.
- College of Engineering:
- The Pumpkin Drop event will be on October 22.
- Will attend the National Engineering Conference.
- Will collaborate with the College of Business and the College of Undeclared on November 2.
- College of Health and Human Services:
- Encouraged members to receive the Meningitis B vaccination.
- College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts:
- The “Lend a Hand” campaign will take place from November 5-30.
- College of Sciences:
- October is STEM month!
- Will plan for the “Discover Your Dream” event in March.
- Will collaborate with the College of Engineering and College of Business.
- Graduate Student Association:
- Discussed graduate student issues such as mental health, housing insecurity, etc.
- There will be a Costume Social Halloween Mixer Wednesday, October 17 at Eureka from 5-7 pm.
- Undeclared College:
- Will plan a mentoring event on October 15.
- Will collaborate with the College of Engineering and College of Business.
