I. CALL TO ORDER

Chief Justice Scarlett Walker called the meeting to order at 8:06 a.m.

III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA

It was moved and seconded to approve today’s agenda.

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes of 12/11/25.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT:

1. Few expectations to start off the semester:
2. Reminder to wear A.S. polo and be on time.
3. Please complete a REAF if you will be absent and let Scarlett know.
4. Please raise your hand during the meeting to ensure that everyone is heard.

VII. MEMBER REPORTS:

1. JAC Role Updates
2. Requirements - Reminder emails to complete semesterly requirements will be sent after we set the deadlines. 
3. Elections - Elections Committee will start meeting next week, Wednesday, February 4, weekly. 
4. Awards - None.
5. Buddy Updates - None.
6. University Senate Committee Update
   Scarlett: The Student Grievance Committee is meeting soon. I will have more information next week. 
    

VIII. INFORMATION

1. Attendance - Frances reviewed the attendance.
2. Individualized Substitution Plan (ISP)
   There are two ISPs submitted for the semester from Jesus Guzman and Marlie Munday for having academic conflicts during their Council meetings.
3. Setting Deadline for Spring Requirements
   The Justices had a discussion to set three deadlines for the Council requirements being due as it worked well last semester. The three deadlines decided are the following:

1. Friday, February 27
2. Friday, March 20
3. Friday, April 17

IX. ACTION

1. Deadline for Spring Requirements
   It was moved and seconded to approve February 27, March 20, and April 17 as the spring requirement deadlines.

It was moved and seconded to approve the appointments and resignations memo for January 29, as attached.

X. ADVISOR REPORTS

1. Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: No report.
2. Executive Director Designee: Reminder that the A.S. elected and appointed position applications are available. The elected application is due on Friday, February 13. Save the date for the Aztec Achievement Awards, April 30.
