I. CALL TO ORDER
Chief Justice Scarlett Walker called the meeting to order at 8:02 a.m.
II. ROLL CALL

- Voting Members Absent: Grace Cho, Olivia Alfonso.
- Non-Voting Members Present: Janice Dils

- Guests Present: None.
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
It was moved and seconded to approve today’s agenda.

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes of 9/4/25.|

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT:
Scarlett reminded the Justices about the A.S. Council Member Resource Drive and that there is a folder in there called “A.S. Leader Requirements” with links to all the JAC forms for requirements, ISPs, and REAFs.
VII. MEMBER REPORTS
- JAC Roles Updates
a. Requirements

Scarlett explained that in this section, this is a chance for all Justices to give a report on their specific JAC role.
B. Buddy Updates
Once the requirements deadlines are set, the Justices will have a chance to reach out to their buddies with a Council Member Bank with links and deadlines. This section is also a chance for the Justices to share any updates from their Council buddies.
C. University Senate Committee Update
This section is for those who sit on a University Senate or University Committee to provide any updates for the Council.
a. Scarlett - Student Grievance Committee is looking for new members. Would like to clarify a new process about conflict counseling before students are able to visit the SDSU Ombudsmen office.
VIII. INFORMATION
- Shared Governance Presentation (Time Certain 8:15 a.m.) - Shruti Sharma, AS. Shared Governance Assistant
Shruti provided information on the importance of shared governance at SDSU. Explained the different SDSU committees/spaces that A.S. leaders can make their voices heard. Provided a QR code and a link for them to join. - Requirements Discussion
Scarlett led a discussion on when the A.S. leader requirements should be due during the semester.
IX. ACTION
- Deadline for Requirements
It was moved and seconded to approve 10/3, 10/24, and 11/14 as the three deadlines to submit at least one of the three requirements for A.S. leaders.

B. Appointments and Resignations
It was moved and seconded to approve the appointments and resignations memo for 9/11/25.

C. Request for Excused Absences (REAFs)
1. It was moved and seconded to table Jamie Quach’s (UC) REAF for missing the fall retreat until further information is gathered.

2. It was moved and seconded to approve Peter Athey’s (UC) REAF for missing the fall retreat.

3. It was moved and seconded to approve Eric Krog’s (UC) REAF for missing the fall retreat.
VAN WINKLE/SCHAEFER FLORES CARRIED (4-0-0)
4. It was moved and seconded to approve Jackson Patterson’s (UC) REAF for missing the fall retreat.
TREPTOW/ALANIZ CARRIED (4-0-0)
5. It was moved and seconded to not approve Mila Valdivia’s (UC) REAF for missing the fall retreat.

A friendly amendment was made by ALANIZ to table the REAF until further information is gathered. There were no objections.

X. ADVISOR REPORTS
- Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: None.
- Executive Director Designee: Given the national events that occurred yesterday, we, at A.S., and the University, are taking steps to ensure the safety of all SDSU students. If there is anything you need, please feel free to reach out to me, the executive officers, any A.S. advisor or submit a Your Voice Matters submission. Stay safe.
XI. ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Join the Model UN! The first meeting is tonight from 6-7 p.m.
- Join a team on the Dance Marathon to support Rady’s Children’s Hospital. The main Dance Marathon event will be in February.
