Chief Justice Jordan Valdez called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. (PT).

VIII. INFORMATION

A. University Senate Committee Presentation - Beth Bridges, A.S. Shared Governance Assistant (Time Certain 11:05 a.m.)
Beth Bridges presented on Campus Governance Committees and the importance of student voice in university committee spaces.  Beth gave the Justices an opportunity to complete an interest form for the University Senate Committees, in which dates/times were available to review for immediate student placement.

B. Attendance
The attendance will be reviewed at the next meeting.

C. Deadline for Requirements Discussion
Jordan led a discussion on when would be an appropriate date and time for the A.S. Leaders can complete their tabling, RSO and cultural event requirements.  The tentative date/time will be November 17 at 11:59 p.m. to submit via Google Form.

D. Individualized Substitution Plans (ISPs)
Jordan reviewed the requests for three A.S. leaders, Nick Ables, Malia Preisendorf, and Leanne Locano, not being about to attend CLC or UC due to class.  Based on discussion, Jordan will follow up with clarifying questions for Nick, Malia, and Leanne in terms of their plans.  

IX. ACTION

A. Selection of Justice to A.S. Vacancy Ad-Hoc Committee
The A.S. Vacancy Ad-Hoc Committee will meet to fill the A.S. Community Service Commission Representative, A.S. Student Support Commission Representative, and the A.S. Elections Coordinator positions.  We will need one main Justice and an alternate.

It was moved and seconded to appoint Derrick Herrera as the main Justice and with Palni Bhatt, Chike Amobi, and Rebecca Marconi as alternates.

B. Appointments and Resignations
It was moved and seconded to approve the appointments and resignations for 9/2/22.

C. Requests for Excused Absences (REAFS) - Due to time constraints, this is postponed until the next meeting.
