I. CALL TO ORDER

Chief Justice Angelica Espinoza called the meeting to order at 9:02 am in State Suite at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

  1. Voting Members Present: Angelica Espinoza, Christopher Lee, Josephine Chu, Ubaldo Martinez, Tiana Loving, Katrina Mogannam, Kaila Cooper.
  2. Voting Members Absent: None.
  3. Non-Voting Members Present: Dr. Lee Mintz, Jennifer Esquivel-Parker.
  4. Non-Voting Members Absent: None.
  5. Visitors Present: None.

III. MODIFICATIONS OF AGENDA:

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda.

LEE/LOVING

There was a friendly amendment to add Election Committee minutes as an Action Item. There were no objections.

The agenda was approved as amended.          CARRIED, (6-0-0)

IV. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES:

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes, as attached.

V. PUBLIC COMMENT:

None.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT:

Angie reported that Aztec Achievement Awards are this week. Happy Earth Day! There will be a Green Love event today from 10 am – 2pm. There will be succulents at today’s pop-up shop. Swap Shop will be on Wednesday, April 24. There are open positions for the Campus Life Council student-at-large. The applications are due on April 24 at 4 pm. This is the second to last JAC meeting. There will be an end-of-the-year celebration. Their thoughts are with Sri Lanka.

VII. VICE CHAIR REPORT:

Vice Chair Chris reminded members to get six to eight hours of sleep and wished members a Happy Easter.

VIII. INFORMATION:

  1. Attendance: Postponed until next meeting.
  2. Council Member Duties: Alison Powell, Chloe Sabio, Dalton Daggs, Kemahni Booze, Luke Fishman, Michael Wiafe, Ronnie Cravens, and Nick Wohlman have not completed their council member duties.

It was moved and seconded to approve the Appointments, as attached.

It was moved and seconded to approve the proposed bylaw and charter amendments, as amended, as attached.

It was moved and seconded to approve Jo Chu and Kaila Cooper as the Justices on the Appointments and Review Committee.

It was moved and seconded to approve the Awards Committee Minutes, as attached.

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Katrina Mogannam for missing Judicial Affairs Council meeting on 4/15/19.

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Stephanie Estrada for missing University Council meetings on 4/17/19 and 5/1/19.
