I. CALL TO ORDER

Chief Justice Angie Espinoza called the meeting to order at 9:07 am in State Suite at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

  1. Voting Members Present: Angelica Espinoza, Christopher Lee, Josephine Chu, Ubaldo Martinez, Katrina Mogannam, Kaila Cooper, Tiana Loving.
  2. Voting Members Absent: None.
  3. Non-Voting Members Present: Jennifer Esquivel-Parker.
  4. Non-Voting Members Absent: Dr. Lee Mintz.
  5. Visitors Present: Nickolas Wohlman.

III. MODIFICATIONS OF AGENDA

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda.

IV. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes, as attached.

V. PUBLIC COMMENT

  1. Nickolas Wohlman gave a follow-up comment to his visit last week.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT

Angie thanked members for all the work that they do. Good luck on midterms!

VII. VICE CHAIR REPORT

Vice Chair Chris reviewed the by law of the week.

VIII. INFORMATION

  1. Attendance: Chris and Katrina will give an update next week.
  2. Last Chance Alternatives Proposed Amendment: The council reviewed the proposed changes to the Last Chance Alternative sections. They will review again next week.
  3. Proposed Bylaw and Charter Amendments: Postponed to next week.
  4. Last Chance Alternative (LCAs): The LCAS are going well. Everyone is doing what they need to do.

IX. ACTION

A. Appointments:

It was moved and seconded to approve the Appointments, as attached, and to add Darren Wilson and Carissa Fong to the Awards Committee. It was approved as amended.

B. Tabling Duties Hearings:

a. It was moved and seconded to assign Michael Wiafe to table at Explore SDSU and a cultural event because he did not complete his tabling requirement, but responded when contacted by JAC.

b. It was moved and seconded to assign Chloe Sabio one additional hour of tabling because she did not complete her tabling requirement, but responded when contacted by JAC.

COOPER/MOGANNAM          CARRIED, (5-0-1)

c. It was moved and seconded to assign Sam Emami two reprimands because he did not complete his tabling requirement, but responded when contacted by JAC.

LEE/CHU          CARRIED, (6-0-0)

d. It was moved and seconded to assign Trent Wann and Noah Winne one hour of tabling at Explore SDSU or Harambe and assign one reprimand because they completed their tabling requirement late and did not respond when contacted by JAC.

MOGANNAM/LEE          CARRIED, (6-0-0)

e. It was moved and seconded to assign Cat Kricorian, Latrel Powell, Ronnie Cravens, and Ryan Du two hours of tabling at Harambe or Explore SDSU and assign them two reprimands because they did not do their tabling requirements and did not respond when contacted by JAC.

C. Awards Committee Minutes:

It was moved and seconded to table the Awards Committee Minutes, as attached.

It was moved and seconded to approve the Elections Committee Minutes, as attached.

E. Requests for Excused Absences:

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Tiana Loving for missing Judicial Affairs Council on 3/11/19.

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Ezra Delbick for missing University Council on 3/13/19.

LEE/COOPER          CARRIED, (6-0-0)

X. ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Encouraged members to attend the debates today, tomorrow, and Wednesday at 12 pm in the Courtyard.

      It was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 10:08 am.
