I. CALL TO ORDER

Angelica Espinoza called the meeting to order at 7:50 am in Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

  1. Voting Members Present: Angelica Espinoza, Christopher Lee, Josephine Chu (FaceTime), Kaila Cooper, Tiana Loving, Katrina Mogannam.
  2. Voting Members Absent: Ubaldo Martinez.
  3. Non-Voting Members Present: Jennifer Esquivel-Parker.
  4. Non-Voting Members Absent: Dr. Lee Mintz.
  5. Visitors Present: Erick Ramirez.

III. MODIFICATIONS OF AGENDA:

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT:

Angie thanked everyone for what they do.

VII. VICE CHAIR REPORT:

Vice Chair reported on Bylaw Section 47 A, the attendance guidelines.

VIII. INFORMATION:

  1. Attendance: Postponed to next meeting.
  2. Update on Vacant Positions: Elections Coordinator is Erick Ramirez. College of Business will have a vacancy and the ASUB Representative position is accepting applications now through December 3.
  3. Bylaw Amendment Updates: JAC will be attending BOD today to discuss bylaw amendments. JAC further discussed the changes to the Elections Code.

A. Requests for Excused Absences:

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Josephine Chu for missing Judicial Affairs Council on 11/19/18 and 11/26/18.

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Michael Wiafe for leaving University Council early on 10/24/18.

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Beck Svensson for missing Board of Directors Meeting on 11/5/18.

MOGANNAM/LEE          CARRIED, (5-0-0)

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Christian Onwuka for arriving late to Campus Life Council on 10/31/18.

LEE/COOPER           FAILED, (0-4-1)

It was moved and seconded to approve the request for excused absence from Justin Venckus for missing University Council on 11/7/18.

LOVING/CHU          CARRIED, (5-0-0)

B. Appointments:

It was moved and seconded to approve Erick Ramirez as the Elections Coordinator.

C. Justice on Appts. And Review Committee:

It was moved and seconded to select Tianna Loving and Josephine Chu as the Justices on the Appointments and Review Committee.

It was moved and seconded to selected Josephine Chu as the Justice on the Awards Committee.
