I. CALL TO ORDER

Kimberly Alli called the meeting to order at 7:52 am in Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union. 

II. ROLL CALL

  3. Non-Voting Members Present: Jennifer Esquivel-Parker, Dr. Lee Mintz.
  4. Non-Voting Members Absent: None
  5. Visitors Present: None

III. MODIFICATIONS OF AGENDA

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda, as amended.

IV. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes.

V. PUBLIC COMMENT

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT

Mary has a class requirement conflict with Campus Life Council. Kim will contact her to ask her to fill out a Last Chance Alternative and then come in next Monday to answer questions.

VII. INFORMATION

  1. Attendance: Angie and Michael reviewed attendance charts. Michael expressed that Chloe Mouw has not been attending the College of Education Council meetings. Kim will meet with Chloe, Tanesha, and Chris this week, and hold a hearing if need on October 30.
  2. Elections Code: The elections code and possible changes were discussed.
  3. Last Chance Alternative Updates: Postponed until next week.

VIII. ACTION

  1. Appointments and Resignations: 
    It was moved and seconded to approve Appointments and Resignations, as attached.

  2. Requests for Excused Absences: 
    It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Alanna Sparks for missing University Council meeting on 10/4/17.
    MEDINA/RAMIREZ  CARRIED, (3-0-1)
    It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Angelica Espinoza for missing Judicial Affairs Council meeting on 11/13/17.
    ESPINOZA/RAMIREZ  CARRIED, (4-0-0)
    It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Kyla Blaylock for missing Campus Life Council meeting on 10/11/17.
    ESPINOZA/RAMIREZ    CARRIED, (4-0-0)
  3. Recruitment Requirements:
    Daraja will email the thirteen students who did not submit proof of fulfilling the requirement. She will give them until Friday, October 20, to submit them. If not submitted by Friday, they will be called in to the JAC meeting on October 30.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fulfill JAC duties by the end of the semester.
