I. CALL TO ORDER

Kimberly Alli called the meeting to order at 7:56 am in Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

  2. Voting Members Absent: Cynthia Medina.
  3. Non-Voting Members Present: Jennifer Esquivel-Parker.
  4. Non-Voting Members Absent: Lee Mintz.
  5. Visitors Present: Victor Uwakwe. 

III. MODIFICATIONS OF AGENDA

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda, as amended.

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT

There will be a discussion on elections code changes next week. Kim will review an email on attendance from Michael Wiafe and Angelica Espinoza, that they will then send out.

    1. It was moved and seconded to approve Appointments and Resignations, as attached.

    1. It was moved and seconded to table indefinitely the request for an excused absence from Chloe Sabio for missing Campus Life Council meetings.

    2. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Farris Nabulsi for missing A.S. Retreat on 8/20/17 because of the date the form was submitted.

    3. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Kimberly Alli for leaving A.S. Council Orientation early on 8/26/17 because Kimberly missed only thirty minutes of orientation.

    4. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Angelica Espinoza for missing A.S. Orientation on 8/30/17 because she experienced technical difficulties when she tried to submit the form on 8/22/17.

    5. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Daraja Carrol for missing A.S. Council Orientation on 8/30/17 because she only missed 30 minutes of the meeting.

    6. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Warsan Artan for leaving A.S. Council Orientation early on 8/30/17.

    7. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Beck Svenson for missing Campus Life Council meeting on 9/27/17.

    8. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Josh Miller missing Campus Life Council meeting on 9/27/17.

    9. The request for excused absences from George Scott and Mary Staka were postponed to next week.
    10. The request for excused absences from Zakkiyya West was addressed as a last chance alternative. 
  5. Bylaw Deadline:
    1. It was moved and seconded to set the bylaw and charter amendment deadline as October 20.

  6. Appointments and Review Committee: Appointments will be based on availability.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Congratulations to Kim and Victor for being selected for Homecoming Court!
  2. Today is Child Health Awareness Day.
  3. The Aztecs Rock Hunger campaign has begun!
  4. JAC offered their condolences to all those affected by the mass shooting that happened in Las Vegas.
