I. CALL TO ORDER

Jordan Maharaj called the meeting to order at 8:35 AM in Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

  1. Voting Members Present: Jordan Maharaj, Farris Nabulsi (late), Nicolai Mlodinow, Kim Alli, Brie Hornig, Erin Gonzalez, Abel Mercado.
  2. Voting Members Absent: None.
  3. Non-Voting Members Present: Jennifer Esquivel-Parker.
  4. Non-Voting Members Absent: Lee Mintz.
  5. Visitors Present: None.

III. MODIFICATION OF AGENDA:

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda for today’s meeting. MLODINOW/GONZALEZ It was moved to remove Action Item C. Last Chance Alternative Requests and D. Awards Committee Minutes. There were no objections. The agenda was approved as amended. CARRIED, (5-0-0)

IV. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES:

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes. MLODINOW/MERCADO CARRIED, (5-0-0)

V. PUBLIC COMMENT:

None.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT:

  1. There is a possibility of two last chance alternative requests next week.

VII. INFORMATION:

  1. Meeting with the Board of Directors and Review of Process for Proposed Changes to the Structure (handout): Jordan will propose a meeting date and time by the end of the week. Please review the working document and come prepared to discuss at this meeting with BOD.
  2. Attending BOD, CLC, UC: Jordan will send out the sign-up sheet today. Please make sure to add your time certain to document.
  3. Attendance Reports: Brie reviewed the attendance chart. She reported that Alex Shapiro and Alexis Alexander are at 2. Jordan will reach out to both of them.
  4. Elections Update: Jenna Beuck is the new Elections Coordinator. Today and tomorrow are the mandatory meetings.

VIII. ACTION:

  1. Appointments and Resignations: It was moved and seconded to approve the appointments and resignations memo, as attached.

    There was a friendly amendment to add Jenna Beuck as Elections Coordinator. There were no objections. The memo was approved as amended.

  2. Requests for Excused Absences:
    1. It was moved and seconded approve the request for an excused absence from Josh Miller for missing retreat on 1/20/17.

    2. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Erin Gonzalez for missing the All Council Training on 2/8/17.

    3. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Meghan Andrade for missing the Campus Life Council meeting on 2/15/17.

    4. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Anya Shutovska for missing the Campus Life Council meeting on 2/15/17.

    5. It was moved and seconded to approve the requests for excused absences from Alexis Alexander, Eran Bechor, Josh Skolnick, Dylan Colliflower, Farris Nabulsi and Rachel Muntz for missing the Campus Life Council meeting, the All Council Training, the JAC meeting and the Campus Life Council meeting, respectively. MLODINOW/MERCADO CARRIED, (6-0-0)
    6. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Chris Thomas for missing the All Council Training on 2/8/17.
      ALLI/HORNIG FAILED, (0-6-0)
      The request failed because it was not turned in by the deadline for a non-emergency request.
    7. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Nicolai Mlodinow for missing the All Council Training on 2/8/17.
      ALLI/MERCADO FAILED, (0-5-1)
      The request failed because it was not turned in by the deadline for a non-emergency request.
  3. Amendment to the Elections Schedule (handout): It was moved and seconded to change the date and time candidates can reserve space and set-up their signs to Saturday, 3/4/17 at 8am and 3:30pm respectively and time to remove their signs to 2pm on 3/17/17.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
