I. CALL TO ORDER

Chair Brenna Culliton called the meeting to order at 8:34 AM in Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

  2. Voting Members Absent: None.
  3. Non-Voting Members Present: Jennifer Esquivel-Parker.
  4. Non-Voting Members Absent: Lee Mintz.
  5. Visitors Present: Harrison Baum, Sergio Cisneros, Jack Doheny, Alexis Dumitrescu, Keaton Lash, Daniel Matlock.

III. MODIFICATION OF AGENDA:

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda.

IV. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES:

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes of 1/25/16, as attached.

VI. CHAIR’S REPORT:

Brenna gave an update on Last Chance Alternatives Process and the hearing process. Abel will create a google document to track the Last Chance Alternatives.

VII. INFORMATION:

  1. Attendance Charts: Jordan is meeting with Linh, Janice and Jennifer this week to review the attendance and duties charts.
  2. Amendments Deadline: Amendments are due on March 18 at 4pm.

VIII. ACTION:

  1. Appointments and Resignations: It was moved and seconded to approve the Appointments and Resignations memo, as attached.

    Abel Mercado and Brenna Culliton were added as JAC representatives for the Elections Committee.
    The memo was approved as amended.
  2. Requests for Excused Absences:
    1. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Mustafa Alemi for missing the A.S retreat on 1/23/2016, as attached.

    2. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Paul Sullivan for missing the A.S University Council meeting on 1/27/2016, as attached.

    3. It was moved and seconded to approve the request for an excused absence from Vanessa Girard for missing the A.S Campus Life Council meeting on 2/03/2016, as attached.

    4. The request for an excused absence from Keagan Casey for missing the A.S University Council meeting on 1/27/2016 will be postponed until next meeting, as attached.
  3. Elections Committee Minutes: It was moved and seconded to approve the Elections Committee minutes for 1/29/2016, as attached.

  4. Last Chance Alternatives: It was moved and seconded to approve the Last Chance Alternatives requests from Daniel Matlock, Jack Doheny, and Sergio Cisneros.

  5. Hearings:
    1. It was moved and seconded to assign Keaton Lash a multicultural event and four hours of tabling, with paperwork turned in by February 29th at 4pm in addition to his spring duties.

      It was moved and seconded to add “if not completed by established date, it will lead to removal from his position.”

      The motion was approved as amended.
    2. It was moved and seconded to assign Alexis Dumitrescu attendance at one multicultural event, and one student organization meeting she is not affiliated with, with proof of attendance paperwork turned in by February 29 at 4pm, in addition to her spring duties and if not completed by established date, it will lead to removal from her position.

    3. It was moved and seconded to assign Jack Doheny attendance at one student organization he is not affiliated with, with proof of attendance paperwork turned in by February 29 at 4pm, in addition to his spring duties and if not completed by established date, it will lead to removal from his position.

    4. It was moved and seconded to assign Harrison Baum attendance at one student organization he is not affiliated with, with proof of attendance paperwork turned in by February 29 at 4pm, in addition to his spring duties and if not completed by established date, it will lead to removal from his position.

    5. It was moved and seconded to assign Chloe Sension attendance at one student organization she is not affiliated with, with proof of attendance paperwork turned in by February 29 at 4pm, in addition to her spring duties and if not completed by established date, it will lead to removal from her position.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

Join Jordan at the Polio fundraiser tonight at Woodstock’s in Pacific Beach.
