A.S. Vice President Milan Rawls called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m.

VI. PRESENTATIONS AND UNIVERSITY REPORTS
- SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee, Caryl Montero-Adams reported on the following:
Community health initiatives continue to emphasize the importance of mental health resources, including the Care Team, with emails being sent to students who may benefit from support. Additionally, a number of reports have been received regarding alleged hazing and other concerning behaviors. Actions will be taken to address these issues, and appreciation is extended to those who came forward to report them. - ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

VII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS
- Milan Rawls, Executive Vice President, reported on the following:
A basketball game will take place tomorrow at 7 p.m., during which the culture requirement activity will be incorporated, and halftime will feature mini basketball games honoring children from the local community. Last week, I met with the Disabled Students Society alongside CB to discuss ways to strengthen their connection with and understanding of Associated Students. Additionally, planning is underway for the Spring Retreat, which is scheduled for January. - Kareen Holstrom, A.S. President:
A meeting was held with Andy Lopez regarding the Sunflower Initiative, a program designed to promote awareness and recognition of individuals with disabilities through the use of sunflower pins, enabling campus police and the broader campus community to provide appropriate support.
Updates on the IRA fee will be released soon, with additional information to be presented at the final CLC meeting this Wednesday. Additionally, the annual lighting walk is scheduled for the same day, and participants are encouraged to RSVP if they wish to attend. - Aliza Siddiqui, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs:
A total of $2,000 was raised for Pie Day, and with ARH concluding on December 1st, additional donations are encouraged as we near the end of the campaign. The Community Garden Service Day has been rescheduled to December 6th from 12 to 2 p.m., and those interested are invited to sign up.
Additionally, I will be focusing on developing financial literacy workshops as an upcoming initiative. - Abby McLachlan, A.S. Vice President of External Relations:
CSU Voices is working to strengthen systemwide advocacy efforts for the California State University, and students may opt in to receive email alerts on legislative issues and bill progress.
The ERB is currently engaged in several advocacy initiatives, and a recent meeting with Congressman Scott provided insight into the potential government shutdown and its implications for SDSU students, particularly those in North County. Additionally, CHESS applications are now open and will close on the 26th. - Nadia Gallarzo, A.S. Vice President of University Relations:
Academic Affairs held a productive conversation with Career Services alongside the college presidents, focusing on strengthening support and professional development opportunities for students.
Additionally, the UC meeting was highly constructive, providing valuable insights and reinforcing collaboration across the councils. - Christina Brown, Executive Director:
On December 10th, an all-council end-of-semester event will take place, culminating in a dinner at a nice restaurant in Grossmont Center. - Brian Levett, Government Affairs Assistant Director:
Fast Track students will be attending your meetings, and it is encouraged to welcome them and invite them to participate in any open opportunities, using a checklist to ensure they are fully informed and included. - Payton Scott, CLC Student-At-Large, reported on the following:
There is a strong foundation for this initiative, with ongoing follow-ups and guidance being coordinated with advisors, including Brian Levett. - Misha Yohannes, CLC Student-At-Large, reported on the following:
Follow-up meetings with HBS are ongoing to continue discussions and ensure progress on current initiatives. - Julia Biesman, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on the following:
Discussions are ongoing regarding organizational goals, with collaboration alongside Julia M. on marketing updates for the A.S. website.
Additionally, CFAC will meet this Friday, and Edible SDSU, a website highlighting edible plants and food resources across campus, continues to serve as a valuable student resource. - Jasmin Zeis-Khalil, ASBOD Student-At-Large,reported on the following:
Dr. Manning revoked the permit for a table that was causing disruptions among students. The International Affairs Committee is currently coordinating a vote with COIL regarding an international academic course designed to provide students with a global experience, offering an alternative for those unable to study abroad.
Additionally, the SWANA survey is being launched, and community partners are conducting follow-ups to reinforce to students that they are valued members of the SDSU community. - Ava Alvarado, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on behalf of Milan Rawls the following:
The JAC presentation of the Bill of Rights has been approved, and the next steps require review and formal approval by both the UC and the Board of Directors. - Aztec Student Union Board reported on the following:
GreenFest experienced significant growth, with approximately 250 attendees, and the Cooking with Chefs event was a successful collaboration with the Food Pantry.
Looking ahead, upcoming events include New Year, New Me after the break, Battle of the Bands, and the final event, No Place Like the Union.
Campus Community Commission reported on the following:
The Safe Ride program has expanded to include female drivers to enhance student safety, and a promotional video is being produced to highlight this initiative. Tonight’s Lighting Walk will take place to assess potential replacements, and planning is underway for additional events and activities during the spring semester. - Community Service Commission reported on the following:
Efforts are ongoing to develop collaborations with the Glazier Center and to plan initiatives for the next semester.
During the last meeting, an activity from ASUB, led by Julia, was featured, and a panel was held to support Fast Track students. - Student Support Commission reported on the following:
We will officially be participating in Community Connect next semester, and the Your Voice Matters initiative will have a tabling event tomorrow for those who are interested in learning more or getting involved. - Recreation and Wellness Commission reported on the following:
Today from 3 to 5 p.m., a Pride Remembrance Memorial focused on health and well-being will take place. Students in need of study space can use the ARC, and updates about the Mending Mind presentation can be found on the Aztec Rec Instagram.
There will be no Fitness Happy Hour or ARC classes next week due to Thanksgiving.
Additionally, a meeting was held last week with Pam, and plans are underway to meet with a student to improve transparency by incorporating the history of yoga into class descriptions for ARC members. - Student Diversity Commission reported on the following:
Efforts are underway with Megan on the disability report to ensure that her community is acknowledged and that her initiative is implemented by next semester. - Sustainability/Green Love Commission reported on the following:
A walk-through with Aztec Shops and the SDC Market is being conducted to review vendor materials and confirm they are compostable.
Additionally, a meeting with Zip Launch Pad addressed food insecurity, highlighting their efforts to redistribute leftover food to those in need. The co-chairs who are graduating were also recognized and honored for their contributions. - Marketing and Communications Commission reported on the following:The finalization of sticker packs is underway, and a partnership with Nadia is supporting the Your Voice Matters initiative. Event blogs for AS events have been launched, allowing MarComm members to vlog at events upon request. To request support, event organizers can complete the MarComm Support Form.
