I. CALL TO ORDER

Executive Vice President Tajuddin Henry called the meeting to order at 3:42 p.m.

II. ROLL CALL

It was seconded and moved to approve the agenda for February 27.

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: Recently attended a conference on policies and possible impacts within the Higher education system.

    It was moved and seconded to strike the 2/27 Community Service Commission minutes and carry the 3/6 minutes to the next Campus Life Council meeting.

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Aztec Student Union Board reported on the following: Focusing on enhancing strategies in social media and fostering professional development.
  2. Community Service Commission reported on the following: Received 147 responses to the Safety Survey and will be awarding four $25 gift cards to randomly selected participants
  3. Campus Community Commission reported on the follow: Safety Week will take place from April 14th to 18th, located at Centennial Walk
  4. Recreation and Wellness Commission reported on the following: No report.
  5. Student Diversity Commission reported on the following: Currently developing a new DEI plan and exploring strategies to enhance employee retention.
  6. Student Support Commission reported on the following: Preparing a transition document to be shared with the committee, aimed at supporting incoming officers later this spring
  7. Green Love/Sustainability Commission reported on the following: Currently creating training videos for RSOs on hosting zero-waste events, and the SDSU Sustainability Summit will take place on April 16th
  8. Marketing and Communications Commission reported on the following: Rebranded the Instagram segment 'The Monthly Minute' to 'What's Next with A.S.' to provide students with a preview of upcoming campus events.

  10. Board of Directors Students-at-Large: No Report
  11. Kat Hernandez, A.S. President: No Report.
  12. Tajuddin Henry, Executive Vice President: No Report.
  13. Vincent Lin, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs: One-third of cultural groups and half of the academic groups have presented so far. Funds are still being reallocated from the unallocated budget to support organizations.
  14. Derrick Herrera, A.S. Vice President of External Relations: Just returned from the California Higher Education Student Summit (CHESS) with Lobby Corps Chair Abby McLachlan, where CSSA collaborated on a piece of legislation that was successfully passed
  15. Trinity Dang, A.S. Vice President of University Affairs: Academic Partnership agreement at University Council next week (3/19). Your Voice Matters Pushweek will be April 7th-10th.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Jack McFadden: Announced that he meeting with LaMonica Everett-Haynes about the Rainbow bridge.
  2. Arjun Mohan: Talked about Protests on campus and knowing not only your rights, but also how to safely protest and know what you're protesting.
  3. Julia Biesman: If anyone hears questions about ASUB events, reach out to Julia.
  4. Mike Manangan: Campus Community event at Sharia’s Closet on 3/14 from 2:00pm-3:00pm.
