I. CALL TO ORDER

Executive Vice President Tajuddin Henry called the meeting to order at 3:36 p.m.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

    1. Dr. Caryl Montero-Adams, SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee, reported on the following: There are a variety of events being held this week and in the following weeks, such as tomorrow being the International Peace Village and the A.S. Health & Safety Town Hall. Also, on December 11th, there will be a Midnight Study Break Program.

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

    1. Aztec Student Union Board reported on the following: They recently hosted lots of events such as Monday Night Movies, Open-Mic NIghts, Cooking with Chefs, Campground Cookout, GreenFest, Nightmare in the Union, and more. Aside, they are interested in getting feedback from the Campus Life Council regarding future interactions and collaborations with each other in the future. 
    2. Community Service Commission reported on the following: Held a successful Service Fair with multiple RSOs and around 90 people. Next semester, they plan on holding the fair off-campus and if anyone knows service organizations willing to work with them, reach out. 
    3. Recreation and Wellness Commission reported on the following: Currently gathering volunteers for their Mending Minds. Adaptive Athletics had their Lift-a-thon last weekend and today, they hit their goal of $10,000. Recently, they have been hosting a lot of tours for the Aztec Recreation facilities.
    4. Student Diversity Commission reported on the following: They hosted an event last week and got to meet new leaders of student RSOs.
    5. Green Love/Sustainability Commission reported on the following: They are currently working to revamp the Children’s Center garden, and asked for anyone to reach out if they know someone interested in helping build it.
    6. Campus Life Council Student-At-Large, Jack McFadden, reported on the following: Kevin Daniels has joined the team as a CLC Student-At-Large.
    7. Tajuddin Henry, Executive Vice President: Collaborating to create a CLC landing page with additional forms of media on the A.S. website regarding what CLC has to offer. He started a new model for transition documents and the handoff process via Google Drive. Currently, he is discussing implementations to ADA-accessible features to the SDSU Safe App. He also reached out to Dr. Hala Madanat regarding the marketing of research opportunities to students.
    8. Kat Hernandez, A.S. President: December 11th, 2024 is All Council. Afterwards, there will be a BJ’s All Council dinner. Recently, she has been working with Dr. Mary Taylor on CHART Protocols (Community Healing and Resolution Team) to combat hate speech or violence-related incidents impacting the SDSU community through the seed-funded Alternate Dispute Resolution proposal. Aside, she is working on initiatives within the A.S. student leader DEI plan. 
    9. Vincent Lin, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs: Currently crunching numbers to determine the winners for Aztecs Rock Hunger. He is also looking for student input on ARH overall. Him and Nick Felix also have been analyzing the Student Success Fee and determining how much money is allocated to student activities.
    10. Derrick Herrera, A.S. Vice President of External Relations: Last Friday, two Cal State University System trustees visited. He discussed topics regarding the events on Halloween, Title IX, and opened dialogue to discuss how ADR can handle these issues. He also attended a Virtual Plenary for the Cal State Student Association and talked about call-to-actions regarding Title IX. In the past week, he attended the Young Men of Color Conference composed of students from the Cal State student system. Aside, he exclaimed the success of Rock the Vote this semester as SDSU placed 3rd, and is excited to see the events planned for spring.
    11. Trinity Dang, A.S. Vice President of University Affairs: The last University Council meeting was last week. She had Dr. Hala Madant present on research opportunities and expanding research outside of STEM. There were updates presented regarding the Provost Search Committee with a new member, the College of Engineering President. Your Voice Matters received around 10 submissions recently and they all have been responded to. As far as the library fee is concerned, they are gathering student feedback on the library  to figure out an appropriate fee for improvements.
    12. Brian Levett, Campus Life Council A.S. Student Advisor: Everyone has been doing amazing work. As the semester winds down, he asked for people to reflect on the semester and strategize to plan the future as well as work on transitions.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS

    1. ASUB is looking for students to join their committee and wanted input on tabling times.
    2. There is an app for A.S. commissions and boards titled Modern Campus Involve.
