Within their office, they have a Student Life, Health, and Safety Coordinator who consults individuals and develops risk management plans for organizational activities, tailgate registration processes, alcohol processes, compliance, and many more from a caring standpoint. She touched up on the Implemented Amnesty and Good Samaritan Policy, for individual students and recognized student organizations to protect victims in emergency situations from any violations or legal actions against them. Usage of this policy empowers students to address issues they may face, and there is always someone from the SACD on a rotational call reservation at 619-594-DUTY.
    2. Campus Safety Presentation (Time Certain 3:45 p.m.) Various leaders from Student Affairs and Campus Diversity and University Police Department presented on safety issues, risk management, harm reduction, and ways their departments contribute to the wellbeing of students. UPD is a 24/7 police department with a full, functional 911 dispatch center. It has around 40 full-time and around 45 part-time sworn officers, as well as incoming safety enhancements. With the Time, Place, Manner policies from the CSU, restrictions are put in place regarding the prohibition of certain activities and providing guidelines for specific activities. As far as emergency situations, there are 4 phases: Mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery. 23 CSU campuses partner to collaborate and ensure the system is well-supported in events of disaster. They also advocated for the SDSU SAFE App, which provides access to friend-walks, safe rides, and methods to ensure safety on campus. Regarding Title IX, the coordinator Gail Mendez is committed to protecting students, educators, and school employees against all forms of sex or gender discrimination. They partner with Counseling and Psychological Services as well as host a weekly group session called RISE, put on by a psychologist who specializes in sexual violence. Finally, an announcement was made regarding an uptake in police presence throughout Halloween weekend to ensure student safety.
