Executive Vice President Tajuddin Henry called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

    1. Aztecs Rock Hunger Presentation - Vincent Lin, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs, presented the following: 20% of donations to Aztecs Rock Hunger will be distributed to the Economic Crisis Resource Team, with the remainder going to the Aztec Food Pantry and to a food bank. With the food pantry receiving over 18,000 visits and over 44 million pounds of food, ¼ of adults in San Diego County are still experiencing nutritional insecurity. 4-5 fundraisers are currently planned out, and around tabling opportunities are available with around 79 hours to pick up.
    2. Rock The Vote Presentation - Derrick Herrera, A.S. Vice President of External Relations, presented the following: Promoted Rock The Vote and detailed it as an initiative to increase voter and civic engagement on campus, and promote resources to vote in November. Previously, RTV held a Presidential Debate Watch Party, a District 9 Candidate Forum, and more. They are currently planning an event on November 5th in Montezuma Hall and are #2 on the Ballet Bowl competition, competing with other schools on the basis of campus civic engagement.

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

    1. Aztec Student Union Board reported on the following: At their last meeting, they approved a waiver and held an ASUB management discussion. They tabled the ASUB Marketing discussion for the next meeting, held ASUB photo-taking for their website, and discussed current agendas. A goal is to focus on a diversity quota with their marketing meetings. Currently, they are hosting Open Mic Night on Thursday, 9/26. 
    2. Community Service Commission reported on the following: Covered Aztec Unity Projects (community service opportunities) and they have a goal of 79,000 service hours. Turnouts are well at meetings with both new and current/older members. Still have vacant spots such as for Marketing & Communications, service and cultural RSOs, and a designee spot.
    3. Campus Community Commission reported on the following: Brief over campus lighting walk and held a public comment regarding a student undergoing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder when in the presence of an officer in full suit. They are planning a Good Neighbor Cleanup on November 10th, 2024, and are holding a Safety Committee Meeting on October 29th, 2024 (sending invites soon).
    4. Recreation and Wellness Commission reported on the following: Conducted a slideshow on 8th-dimensional Wellness and the importance of each aspect. Held a Recreation & Wellness orientations and what it entails considering facilities. They are still working on Mending Minds and have the week of March 10th, 2025 planned.
    5. Student Diversity Commission reported on the following: Planned dates and times as well as logistics for upcoming events, talked through their DEI plan, and discussed upcoming initiatives and collaborations as well as a vacant spot for secretary.
    6. Green Love/Sustainability Commission reported on the following: Interested in assisting with a transportation line to the Mission Bay Aquatic Center. Current projects include zero-waste initiatives and emphasizing the applicability of sustainability to all students.
    7. Marketing and Communications Commission reported on the following: Currently they have fulfilled two vacant positions, VP Project Management and VP Social Media. Finalized promotional items for the semester and filmed the Monthly Minute to be posted in the week prior.
    8. Kat Hernandez, A.S. President: Incorporated the Board of Director Student-at-Larges into the A.S. pilot, now projected to launch in the Spring. She recently closed the A.S. Student Leader Survey, and will review data and apply this to the upcoming topical town hall.
    9. Vincent Lin, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs: Working on Aztecs Rock Hunger and had reports from Sierra Mesa and Rolando. They are still planning fundraisers and promoting volunteer forms.
    10. Derrick Herrera, A.S. Vice President of External Relations: Recently attended the Cal State Student Association and discussed CSU Time, Place, Manner policies. He received more information regarding the placement of policies despite student  input and determined that discussion will be held regarding possible amends. Detailed the status of AB2586 and the veto of the bill which would provide undocumented students eligibility for employment.
    11. Trinity Dang, A.S. Vice President of University Relations: Tabling signups for Your Voice Matters have started. She is partnering with the Love Library to conduct the Banned Books week and on the day prior to meeting, will have an event in the Union Courtyard. She has discussed the Academic Partnership Agreement with Provost Dr. Sonja Pruitt-Lord and will discuss further on how to instill. The University House event is next Wednesday after the University Council meeting, ending early.
    12. Brian Levett, Campus Life Council A.S. Student Advisor: There are vacancies for seats in which will be promoted with applications in the A.S. website.
    13. Christina Brown, A.S. Executive Director: On October 2nd, 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm, University House event. Meet downstairs before the bridge-cross to carpool.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS

    1. The Aztec Student Union Board has updated their leadership chairs.
    2. Black Pre-Law Association and SDSU Sigmas are hosting a presidential watch party.
    3. If interested in DJ-ing, In the Mix DJ Club has their first meeting following the CLC meeting tonight, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Matayuum.
    4. Latinx Resource Center and Black Resource Center (BRC) is hosting a cookout at the BRC on October 3rd, 2024 from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
    5. Taj: Black Excellence Think Tank is on Tuesday, October 1st from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm at the BRC.
    6. Vincent: Aztecs Rock Hunger will have tabling on family weekend.
