Executive Vice President Tajuddin Henry called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

    1. Aztecs Rock Hunger Presentation - Vincent Lin, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs: Detailed the “Feed the Need” initiative on October 4th, followed by Family Weekend and ending on October 27th, after Homecoming. Also kickstarting a “What is Aztecs Rock Hunger?” Campaign with a $100,000 goal of donations. 
    2.  A.S. Chief Justice Introduction - Shaye Phung - A.S. Chief Justice:
      Detailed the requirements of a Campus Life Council member, such as tabling with A.S., attending RSO and cultural events the student is not affiliated with, and assuring each leader is connected with the community with these requirements due by November 20, 2024.

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

    1. Tajuddin Henry, Executive Vice President, reported on the following: Pushing for CareerAdvantage to collaborate with Campus Life Council to incorporate ideas and consolidate team concepts.
    2. Aliza Siddiqui, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on the following: Working on promoting scholarships with the Marketing and Communications Committee, and working with the Student Diversity Commission to promote SDSU-offered legal services and scholarships towards marginalized groups.
    3. Kareen Holstrom, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on the following: Pushing to assist Campus Community Commission and help connect initiatives with other commissions.
    4. Janine Ezomo, ASBOD Student-At-Large, reported on the following: Pushing for a first-generation initiative within A.S. and following the Career Advantage agenda by supporting more first-generation students.
    5. Aztec Student Union Board reported on the following: The board met consistently over the summer to discuss further ASUB events project proposal processes. They held 550 attendees for a successful Red and Black Night, with main objectives revolving around allowing students to have a sense of community on campus.
    6. Community Service Commission reported on the following: They had their first meeting recently with new and old members. They are currently facilitating planning, production, and marketing of community service events to be held each year. Once the groundwork is laid, it is expected to be self-sufficient in programming. They are pushing to work with the Residential Education Office to help Resident Advisors promote resources among students, along with the potential to collaborate with Greek life and Registered Student Organizations.
    7. Campus Community Commission reported on the following: Attempted a meeting recently, but are still struggling with member attendance. Current goals revolve around promoting the SDSU SAFE App, improving campus lighting, and planning neighborhood cleanups. A current initiative they have is updating the Campus Community website and obtaining more membership through promotion.
    8. Recreation and Wellness Commission reported on the following: They held their first meeting recently and conducted icebreakers, an overview on Aztec Recreation, and Mending Minds. There was new member turnout and they are pushing to coordinate Recreation and Wellness activities through the ARC, ENS, Intramural Sports, and more.
    9. Student Diversity Commission reported on the following: Held their second meeting the morning of Campus Life Council on September 11th, 2024. With both new and old member turnout, agendas were discussed around hosting a “Culture Connect” event to open cultural resources to students, and pushing to uplift Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion amongst students.
    10. Green Love/Sustainability Commission reported on the following: Last week they held their first successful meeting where they painted tote bags and discussed each committee and chair introductions. Current projects include zero-waste initiatives and emphasizing the applicability of sustainability to all students.
    11. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large reported on the following: Pushing to lobby and kickstart any initiatives helpful to the campus, and working to improve campus lighting, safety at night, and aesthetics. A challenge includes communication to achieve these initiatives. 
    12. Marketing and Communications Commission reported on the following: Went over general agendas of the promotion of A.S. including potential promotional items, merchandise, and tabling. They are also pushing to create content with videographers with one challenge being the timing of marketing engagement.
    13. Caryl Montero-Adams, Assistant Dean of Students, reported on the following: Offering engagement opportunities and assisting students in navigating both academic and personal challenges. Continues to commit support to Campus Life Council.
    14. Kat Hernandez, A.S. President: Officially created the A.S. Slack under a Board of Directors pilot, pending approval to use for the entire A.S. body.
    15. Vincent Lin, A.S. Vice President of Financial Affairs: The Financial Affairs Committee had their first meeting on the Monday prior, and plans to dissolve the Campus Program Funding board to consolidate into FAC. 
    16. Derrick Herrera, A.S. Vice President of External Relations: Held first External Relations Board meeting during the week and discussed introductions, goals of the year, and electing Aztecs Rock Hunger Vice Chair.
    17. Trinity Dang, A.S. Vice President of University Relations: Promoting College Council retreat with a trip to the Mission Bay Aquatic Center. Also promoted leadership opportunities and is working to initiate the kickstart of the Academic Partnership Agreement.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS

    1. Taj announced a Homecoming meeting for the following week, and is attending a ribbon-cutting at the Black Resource Center.
