I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Executive Vice President, Sam Lingao, called the meeting to order at 4:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

III. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda of January 31st.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS 

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs Designee, Caryl Montero-Adams reported on the following: Launching into the spring semester by hosting multiple events and programming. Coordinating the start of Dr.Manning, the new Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity, later this month.

    It was moved and seconded to table the General Consent Agenda.

  2. Spring Semester Planning (Information)
    Campus Life Council representatives engaged in a spring semester planning discussion. 

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS 

  1. Sam Lingao, Executive Vice President: A.S. elections are starting to begin. Spring retreat will be this Saturday. There will be a Career Advantage event that will be a panel discussion that transitions into a basketball watch party on 2/20. The Awards committee meets on Wednesday’s from 11-12 p.m. in the Presidential suite. 
  2. Melvin Ridley III, Vice President of External Relations: Vote-A-Palooza event is the next big event for Rock the Vote and the External Relations Board. March 5th is the primary election in California. Working closely with the Student Diversity Committee to work through the resolution process. 
  3. Leo Pena, Vice President of Financial Affairs: Now that Aztecs Rock Hunger campaign is over, Leo would like to thank everyone who donated their time and money. Working to change rules around campaign funding for recognized student organizations. Will assume the responsibility of ‘Thursday Together’ events going forward. 
  4. Ally Gallant, Vice President of University Affairs: Your Voice Matters push week will be 2/26-3/1. On 3/6 there is a “Your Voice, Your Career: Expand Your Network” for Career Advantage that Ally is in the process of planning.
  5. Patricio Silva, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  6. Gianna Salazar, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  7. Kailey Quezada, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report.
  8. Christina Brown, Associated Students Executive Director: Gave a brief introduction to Feion Villodas, the new A.S. Government Affairs Director and Raquel Herriott, the new A.S. Associate Director of Marketing and Communications. 
  9. Brian Levett, Government Affairs Assistant Director: First Year Leadership Initiative (FLI) applications are open. 
  10. Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB): Associated Students representatives should expect an email from Veronica on Monday regarding Greenfest concert tickets. Greenfest concert tickets will be released on 2/19 at 11 a.m. Multiple events for the semester have been planned, specifically Union Sweethearts 2/14. 
  11. Community Service Commission (CSC): Holding another service fair including community based service organizations. 
  12. Campus Community Commission (CCC): Discussing upcoming events and promotions in collaboration with University Police Department and Good Neighbor Clean Ups. Had a great turn out of new members at the first meeting. 
  13. Recreation and Wellness Commission: No report. 
  14. Student Diversity Commission (SDC): Working on the resolution in their committee meetings. Since the resolution is time sensitive the commission has been focused on the resolution primarily. Reviewed the resolution process. 
  15. Student Support Commission (SSC): Meetings will be Monday from 1 p.m. in the State Suite. Working to collaborate with the SDSU food pantry this semester. 
  16. Green Love/Sustainability Commission: “How to be a Climate Optimist” event, 2/21, from 11-12:30 p.m. Held the first general body meeting today and had a great turn out, proud that attendance has been strong the entire semester. 
  17. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large, Jasmin Zeis-Khalil: Looking to get involved in supporting A.S. elections. Assisting in the Rock The Vote campaign as presidential elections approach. Wanting to attend more Student Diversity Committee meetings to watch the resolution process. 
  18. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large, Nadia Dedgeba:  Looking to get involved in supporting A.S. elections. Assisting in the Rock the Vote campaign as presidential elections approach. Wanting to attend more Student Diversity Commission meetings to watch the resolution process. 
  19. Marketing and Communications Commission: Held first general body meeting last week. Working to finalize merchandise for the semester. Calendar magnet has been released. 

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Sam Lingao: Appreciated great attendance for the first meeting of the semester. 
  2. Kat Hernandez: The Eccentric Dance team is holding open workshops to all students, 2/17.
