I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Executive Vice President, Meena Alexander, called the meeting to order at 3:34 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

II. ROLL CALL

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS 

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Aneisha Mitchell: No report.

VII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION 

  1. General Consent Agenda (Action):
    It was moved and seconded to approve the general consent agenda.

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS 

  1. Meena Alexander, Executive Vice President:
    a. Meena Alexander encouraged the council members to reflect on their engagement and attendance in order to finish this semester successfully.
    b. The Mending Minds push week last week was successful and Meena enjoyed the yoga classes.
    c. Tomorrow for the A.S. moral event a women owned business is being highlighted and there will be birria tacos in the office at 2 p.m.
  2. Shawki Moore, President:
    a. This past weekend Shawki was able to travel to Sacramento to attend a California Higher Education Student Summit with the other San Diego State delegates. Shawki also attended the California State Student Association.
    b. The alternative consultation process has completed and the Campus fee Advisory Committee will be meeting on Monday from 3:30-4:30 to discuss their recommendations to the University President.
  3. Robson Winter, Vice President of External Relations: No report.
  4. Sophia Koch, Vice President of Financial Affairs: No report.
  5. Sandy Mekany, Vice President of University Affairs:
    a. Class registration begins on 4/17 and dates for registration appointment will be revealed on 3/20.
    b. Your Voice Matters is collaborating with Mending Minds on an event
    titled, Mind over Matters which will focus on academic and mental health support. This event will be on 4/13.
  6. Mayah Taylor, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report.
  7. Bianca Shaw, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report.
  8. Ava Grell, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report.
  9. Christina Brown, Executive Director:
    a. During the next ASCLC meeting there will be nominations for the Appointments Committee, which will appoint all ASJAC justices and Student at larges for the Board of Directors, there will be three ASCLC members nominated for this committee.
  10. Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB):
    a. The Greenfest performer has been confirmed and it will be announced on March 13th at 10 a.m. on the Greenfest Instagram and tickets will be available the same day at 11 a.m.
  11. Community Service Commission (CSC):
    a. Currently planning the community service fair event on 4/11, CSC is working on reaching out to other community service organizations to encourage them to participate.
  12. Campus Community Commission (CCC):
    a. CCC held a Good Neighbor clean up this past weekend with great attendance with about 40-50 people participating.
    b. On 4/16 at 11 a.m. will be the last Good Neighbor clean up of the semester and it will be in collaboration with the SDSU Football team.
    c. Coffee with UPD will be in the Union tomorrow.
  13. Recreation and Wellness Commission:
    a. Recreation and Wellness Commission tabled last week in collaboration with the Mending Minds push week.
    b. There will be a 3v3 speed soccer tournament tomorrow at the ARC.
  14. Student Diversity Commission (SDC):
    a. SDC highlighted the various celebrations that take place in March such as Jewish heritage and Disability awareness.
    b. SDC wished everyone a happy International Women’s Day.
    c. SDC will be having various speakers in their meetings next week from the Hilel center, Adaptive Athletics, and Women in Business.
  15. Student Support Commission (SSC):
    a. During the next SSC meeting menstrual kits will be made to donate to the basic needs center.
  16. Green Love/Sustainability Commission:
    a. Greenfest is coming up and there will be several events throughout the week such as a sustainability fashion show.
    b. In the next GreenLove meeting a representative from Dr. Bronner’s Soap company will be coming to speak about sustainable business practices.
    c. Following the adjournment of the current ASCLC meeting GreenLove’s committee members will head to the Ocean Beach market and all members are invited to join.
  17. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large, Tarek Morsy: No report.
  18. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large, Nick Ables: No report.
  19. Marketing and Communications Commission:
    a. Marketing and Communications will be tabling for the final time this Friday 3/10.

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS 

  1. Sandy Mekany announced that unfortunately a teacher passed away recently and Sandy encouraged council members as A.S. leaders to look to support friends and students in this time of sadness. As well as that her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, is currently hosting their philanthropy event Moonball to raise money for their charity Girls on the Run.
  2. Tarek Morsy announced that his club, In the Mix, has been collaborating with ASUB and is looking for more organizations to collaborate with.
  3. Noah Hakim announced that there is an outcry from students regarding answers surrounding the death of a Professor and the ongoing health contamination of the Exercise Nutrition Sciences building.
