I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Executive Vice President, Meena Alexander, called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

III. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

V. PUBLIC COMMENT

  1. Noah Hakim and Alexis Bautista presented the official statement from MEChA SDSU regarding the street vendor incident that occurred on campus recently.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS 

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Aneisha Mitchell: No report. 

VII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION 

  1. General Consent Agenda (Action):
    It was moved and seconded to approve the general consent agenda.

VIII. REPORT OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Meena Alexander, Executive Vice President:
    a. Meena encouraged council members to apply for the Aztec Achievement Awards. 
  2. Shawki Moore, President: 
    a. Shawki thanked everyone who attended the All Council meeting. Shawki encouraged everyone to participate in the Campus Fee Advisory Committee (CFAC) alternative consultations so they can give a recommendation to the University President regarding out-of-state and international student fees. 
  3. Robson Winter, Vice President of External Relations:
    a. Robson is working on preparation for the California Higher Education Student Summit (CHESS).
    b. A.S. is working to promote A.S. elections on social media. 
  4. Sophia Koch, Vice President of Financial Affairs: 
    a. Sophia had the opportunity to go to the Jacob and Cushman San Diego Food Bank on behalf of San Diego State University where the university received an award for being the top contributing school at the food bank.
    b. FAC is working on approving budgets and trying to encourage RSO’s to use their funds. 
  5. Sandy Mekany, Vice President of University Affairs: No report.
  6. Mayah Taylor, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report.
  7. Bianca Shaw, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report.
  8. Ava Grell, ASBOD Student-At-Large: No report. 
  9. Christina Brown, Executive Director: 
    a. Christina expressed her appreciation to Noah Hakim and Alexis Bautista for their work on the street vendor incident.
    b. The Student Union Director position is now an open application. 
    c. Assistant Director of the Student Union interviews were just completed. 
  10. Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB):
    a. The Greenfest performer has been confirmed and it will be announced on March 13th at 10 a.m. on the Greenfest Instagram. 
  11.  Community Service Commission (CSC):
    a. The commission has made progress in planning events for the Spring semester.
    b. On 4/11 there will be a community service resource fair where different community service organizations will showcase their volunteer opportunities. 
    c. CSC is working with the community garden to get the student success fee to allocate funds to improve the garden. 
  12. Campus Community Commission (CCC): 
    a. CCC will be having a campus safety push week on social media and different resources are being highlighted on social media each day. 
    b. There will be multiple events for CCC during March like a good neighbor clean up, meet and greet with UPD, and a resource fair. 
  13. Recreation and Wellness Commission:
    a. The Economic Crisis Response Team (ECRT) center is open on the third floor of the Calpulli center. 
    b. ARC Fest was a success.
    c. The ARC was just awarded the first step of LEAD Platinum.  
  14. Student Diversity Commission (SDC):
    a. The last two meetings have been focused on the street vendor incident and how to advocate for the LatinX community. 
  15. Student Support Commission (SSC):
    a. SSC is talking about ideas for the resource guide. 
    b. Currently working on advertising for basic needs resource rooms as well as the swipe share program. 
  16. Green Love/Sustainability Commission: No report.
  17. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large, Tarek Morsy: No report.
  18. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large, Nick Ables: No report. 
  19. Marketing and Communications Commission:
    a. Marketing and Communications will be tabling twice this semester on 3/2 and 3/10.
