I.  CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Executive Vice President, Karina Esteban called the meeting to order at 3:32 p.m. PT.

II.  ROLL CALL

III.  APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

It was moved and seconded to amend the Campus Life Council agenda.

V.  PUBLIC COMMENT - None.

VI.  UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: Caryl Montero-Adams, on behalf of Dr. Andrea Dooley, reported on the following: 
    1. Provided an update regarding the Campus Activities policy.
    2. Student Success Fee applications are due next week.
    3. Closing out the semester with Aztec Nights events to include a Drag Show on 4/22 and the annual Midnight Study Break on 5/5.
    4. There will be summer events and activities planned for students.  More information to come!

VII.  ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

    It was moved and seconded to approve Shawki Moore, Sandy Mekany, Noah Wilson, Ari Weizman, and Nina Go to the A.S. Appointments & Review Committee.

VIII.  REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB): GreenFest starts after spring break.  For the GreenFest concert, all A.S. leaders will be able to get tickets to Gunna.  Building use guidelines will go through ASUB.  
  2. Campus Community Commission (CCC): Good Neighbor Clean Up will be on April 24.
  3. Community Service Commission (CSC): Working on the Monarch School Drive and have collected 250 items, working Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) on social media, National Reading Day tabling, collaborating with GreenLove on the 4/9 if you would like to join us! Come donate blood on Campanile Drive on 4/14.  Last, on 5/6 - we are collaborating with the ‘Neighbors in Need' organization for the unsheltered community.
  4. Recreation and Wellness Commission:  Finished filming the Instagram reel with Girl Gains.  Approved the Recreation and Sports Clubs budgets, the soccer event went well, and had a record 5,107 visits at the ARC.  
  5. Student Diversity Commission (SDC): We have had many different communities who visited SDC, such as Lexo from the Black Resource Center and Chris Medellin from the Native Resource Center.  The week after spring break, Darren Wilson will give the Implicit Bias training.
  6. Student Support Commission (SSC): The A.S. Food Pantry hours will be Monday and Wednesday from 10-2 p.m. and 12-4 p.m., respectively, during spring break.  We are tabling on Wednesdays on Centennial Walkway.  We are working on a food pantry video, which will be coming soon.
  7. Sustainability/Green Love Commission:  The Sustainability Center was approved.  We will have different outings, including an  “I Love a Clean SD” Clean Up and Tijuana Estuary Clean Up - please let me know if you are interested.  The Environmental Justice Committee will be attending a rally tomorrow.
  8. Student-at-Large Campus Representatives:  Provided updates on University Affairs Board and library programming.
  9. Marketing and Communications Committee: Wrapped up for the elections marketing campaign, which included ‘spirit carting’ around the campus and the student union to get students to vote   Working on A.S. Monthly Minute for March.  It will be posted on the A.S. socials on 4/1..  
  10. Board of Directors Students-at-Large:
    1. Ari reported that he is appreciative of A.S. to highlight Jewish Heritage Month.
  11. Executive Vice President: Karina reported on the following:
    1. A.S. Election Results Announcement will take place in the Union this Thursday, 3/27.  At 8 p.m. pizza will be served and the elections results will approximately be at 9 p.m.  Please vote!  
    2. The Aztec Achievement Awards are on 4/21.  Please wear cocktail attire.  Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the program begins at 5 p.m.
  12. President:  No report.
  13. Vice President of External Relations: Shawki reported on the following:
    1. A.S. External Relations Board (ERB) had an event Living Off Campus event - Sean Elo’s office and Waste Management presented. Kara Bauer from Housing also presented the steps to take when you sign a lease to live off-campus.  
    2. We will hosting the Power to the People Series in April  We will have two events, Bobas and Ballots (4/26) and Sundaes and Social Media (4/12).
  14. Vice President of Financial Affairs: Austin Barber reported on the following:
    1. Associated Students received 342 applications for the study abroad/global education scholarships.  All student leaders will be reviewing between 20-21 applications for recommendations.  They are due after spring break on 4/8.
    2. Reviewing budget for next year’s projected budgets.  
  15. Vice President of University Affairs: No report.
  16. Executive Director:  Christina Brown reported on the following:
    1. A.S. appointed positions are due on April 5.  
    2. The elections results will be posted on the A.S. window on the evening of  Thursday, March 24. 
    3. Great job on your commission - quite amazing accomplishments this year.
