I.  CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Executive Vice President, Karina Esteban called the meeting to order at 3:31 p.m. PT.

II.  ROLL CALL

III.  APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

V.  PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

VI.  UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: Dr. Andrea Dooley reported on the following: 
    1. Provided an SDSU facial covering and COVID update.
  2. Leadership Presentation from Dr. Lisa Gates, Director and Advisor for the MA in Postsecondary Educational Leadership and the SDSU Leadership Minor (Time Certain 3:45 p.m.)
    Dr. Lisa Gates provided a presentation on Compassionate Leadership.

VII.  ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

    It was moved and seconded to approve the General Consent Agenda.

VIII.  REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB): Provided an update on Union operations, GreenFest pop up event, Green Love meeting regarding the Green Love corner in the student lounge, and a mural competition.
  2. Campus Community Commission (CCC): Hosting a community clean-up event on March 20 with academic organizations. 
  3. Community Service Commission (CSC): Working on National Reading Day and Random Acts of Kindness. Tabling at the Service Fair next week.  We will collaborate with the American Red Cross blood drive on April 14.  Working on the Aztec Unity project and will collaborate with CCC for Neighbors in Need.
  4. Recreation and Wellness Commission:  Adding an Adaptive Athletics representative to the commission.  Will be collaborating with Girl Gains.
  5. Student Diversity Commission (SDC): Reaching out to cultural organizations. Working on the climate survey to be sent sometime after spring break.
  6. Student Support Commission (SSC): Working on the Red ID swipe sharing - may start soon.  The food pantry received new shelves.  There is a food pantry pantry training on 3/17 at 2:30 p.m.  Tabling during the Farmer’s Market - if you are interested, there are open slots.  
  7. Sustainability/Green Love Commission:  Working on the Sustainability corner in the student lounge.  Collaborating with the College Area Community Garden for the next Green Love Bag Series.  There is an Ocean Appreciation Night on 3/23 for World Water Day.  Working with the Community Service Commission on an estuary event on 4/9.
  8. Student-at-Large Campus Representatives:  Provided updates on University Affairs Board and library programming.
  9. Marketing and Communications Committee: The Monthly Minute is on the A.S. Instagram.  Working on a Day in the Life post.  Will be Spirit Carting on 3/23 for A.S. Elections.  Working on the new A.S. brochure.  
  10. Board of Directors Students-at-Large: No reports.
  11. Executive Vice President: Karina reported on the following:
    1. Aztec Achievement Awards nominations closes on March 6 at 11:59 p.m.
    2. Provided an update on the LatinX Resource Center.
  12. President:  Ashley Tejada reported on the following:
    1. BOD created a statement regarding the conduct of Professor J. Angelo Corlett. 
    2. The Graduate Life and Diversity Center was approved.  
    3. We have a Special BOD meeting scheduled after this meeting to support the Native and Indigenous community. 
    4. Attended a Campanile Foundation meeting. 
    5. The Campus Fee Advisory Committee is meeting this Friday to vote on the ATS fee.
    6. We support SDSU Athletics at the Mountain West Conference tournament.
  13. Vice President of External Relations: Shawki reported on the following:
    1. We will have Rock the Vote campaign events for the June 7 Primary Election.
  14. Vice President of Financial Affairs: Austin Barber reported on the following:
    1. Working on budgets for A.S. departments.
    2. Working with cultural organizations to set their budgets for 22-23.
  15. Vice President of University Affairs: Jennifer Schenkenfelder reported on the following:
    1. Meeting with Provost Ochoa.
    2. Ashley and I will be meeting with the Provost and College Deans on 4/9.
    3. University Affairs Board is collaborating with the library during finals week.
      All the College Councils have finalized their executive board elections timelines.
  16. Executive Director:  Christina Brown reported on the following:
    1. Thank you to Dr. Lisa Gates for presenting at this meeting. 

IX.  ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. SDSU baseball is playing UNLV all weekend.
  2. On Monday, 3/14, SDSU is celebrating 125 years!  Wear red and black and attend all the fun events happening in the Union.
