I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Executive Vice President, Karina Esteban called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. PT.

II. ROLL CALL

III. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:

It was moved and seconded to approve the Campus Life Council agenda of December 1, 2021.

IV.             APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was moved and seconded to approve the previous minutes of 11/29/21.

V. PUBLIC COMMENT:

A.S. Adapted Athletics gave a presentation on their program, which focuses on fair and diverse competitive sports for those with disabilities. SDSU is the premier university to have such inclusivity in this field. 

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: Dr. Andrea Dooley reported on the following: 
    1. Very happy to be in-person again! 
    2. ‘Midnight Study Break’ at the library will be coming back.
    3. The COVID-testing site at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center is now closed. Students who would like to test for COVID are encouraged to use other campus resources, such as the COVID-test vending machines located in various spots around campus. 
    4. The Mountain West Conference Football championship is this Saturday, Dec. 6.  

VII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB): ‘Battle of The Bands’ event is tomorrow!  Everyone is encouraged to attend and support student musicians. The A.S. operations team is working on getting more student artwork up in the Student Union. 
  2. Campus Community Commission (CCC): Hosting a community clean-up event this coming Sunday. We are working with different A.S. groups to collaborate for the event.     
  3. Community Service Commission (CSC): Brainstorming and working on organizing events for next semester. Possibilities include Wreaths Across America. Will have a social action committee next semester.    
  4. Recreation and Wellness Commission:The Aztec Recreation Center (ARC) is a huge hit. The staff will be putting more technology into it, considering making it open 24/7.  
  5. Student Diversity Commission (SDC): No report.   
  6. Student Support Commission (SSC): Looking at new resources for students. This includes ways to upgrade the food pantries (new shelves/food), and ways to be overall supportive for students. 
  7. Sustainability/Green Love Commission: Committees putting together projects for next semester. Includes: green e-waste recycling project and clean-ups. Green Love will be going to thrift stores to buy shirts and print their logo onto them. Would like to collaborate with other A.S. committees on projects next semester.
  8. Student-at-Large Campus Representatives: Working on Your Mental Health Matters initiative. ‘Yoga at The ARC’ event will be held on Dec. 2 in the evening. 
  9. Marketing and Communications Committee: No report. 
  10. Board of Directors Students-at-Large:  
    1. Simran reported that ‘Cocoa and Conversation’ will be held on Dec. 2, 2:30-4 p.m. This event will be open to all students. 
    2. Ari reported that Hillel will be partnering with SDSU to host a focus group this week and next week, on the topic of antisemitism on campus. Anyone is allowed to participate and will be given a $20 gift card for participating. 
  11. Executive Vice President: Karina reported on the following:
    1. The Your Mental Health Matters initiative is still in full swing.
    2. Please share A.S. info on your personal Instagrams. Help needed with info tabling.   
  12. President:  No report.
  13. Vice President of External Relations: No report. 
  14. Vice President of Financial Affairs: Austin Barber reported on the following:
    1. Aztecs Rock Hunger reveal will be held on Dec. 6.
    2. The A.S. Audit Committee meeting is on Friday, Dec. 3. 
  15. Vice President of University Affairs: No report given. 
  16. Executive Director:  No report given. 

IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
