A.S. President, Christian Holt called the meeting to order at 3:33 p.m. PST.

VI.  UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: Dr. Andrea Dooley reported on the following: 
    1. Provided an update regarding in-person classes and virtual opportunities in the fall regarding curriculum.  Will continue to provide options for students who are unable to return to campus.  Working to get an update as soon as possible for the students who are not graduating.
  2. Student Communications and Engagement Discussion (Information) - Carissa Fong and AJ Weizman, A.S. Student  Support Commission 
    Carissa Fong and AJ Weizman from the A.S. Student Support Commission led a discussion regarding how to improve student communications and engagement in regards to notices from all aspects of the SDSU community.

VIII.  REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB):  ASUB has four more meetings left. GreenFest will start soon.  We are planning on keeping the GreenFest during the month of April for the future.  Chair applications open this Friday.  Working on establishing the ASUB and Union budget for next year.  There is an event this Friday with Antoni Porowski from Queer Eye. Check out the ASUB Movie Series.    
  2. Campus Community Commission (CCC): Shout out to ASUB for a great job with the programming!  We are working with Christian and the University Police Department (UPD) regarding officer misconduct.  We will be working with Viejas Arena and Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre regarding pepper spray confiscation.  Johnny, Good Neighbor Program Chair, is working with GreenFest.  Working on the Sophomore Success with Anwar Cruter.  
  3. Community Service Commission (CSC): Had the virtual Service/Education Career Fair on Remo.  Thank you for those who were able to attend!  Claudia Martinez from Career Services will assist in resume building and how to portray service on resumes and interviews.  Planning “National Pay It Forward Day”. 
  4. Recreation and Wellness Commission: San Diego County is in the red tier and we are able to open ARC Indoors with proper safety protocols in place.  ARC Outdoors continue to do well.  The March Hiking Challenge is outgoing for this month.
  5. Student Diversity Commission (SDC):  Engaging with the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) community after the recent shootings in Georgia.  There is a “Better Together” event put on by the APIDA Center.  Please attend to be better allies and show support.  
  6. Student Support Commission (SSC): The Food Pantry will be open on the Rest & Recovery Day.  We are updating the SDSU Resource Guide.  We have been working to plan the filming for the Student Ability Success Center (SASC) video.
  7. Sustainability/Green Love Commission:  Audrey has been working with Aztec Recreation regarding a succulent wall.  For GreenFest, planning a TikTok fashion event.  Working on a planter project with cultural centers. The final Green Bag Lunch Series (GLBS) is in collaboration with Imperial Valley. Working on micromobility transportation on campus.
  8. Campus Life Council Students-at-Large:  Working on transition for CLC representatives.   
  9. Marketing and Communications Commission: Wrapped up with elections promotions.  Spending more time with icebreakers.  Shout-out to Kole Wellenstein for letting us know about Counseling & Psychological Services presentation. We will have professional development workshops in the near future.
  10. Board of Directors Students-at-Large:  
    1. Ashley provided an update regarding CCC working groups, campus safety collaboration and Your Voice Matters presentations.
    2. Abi provided an update regarding Financial Bingo, visits to CLC commissions and ECRT resources.
  11. Executive Vice President: Bella Martelino reported on the following:
    1. Received over 120 applications for the Aztec Achievement Awards.
    2. Working with the CCC and the Good Neighbor Program about a virtual clean up during GreenFest.
  12. President:  Christian Holt reported on the following:
    1. Provided an update regarding the University Senate items to suspend the GRE/GMAT, to change the name of the College of Arts and Letter College, and to add two Imperial Valley seats to the University Senate.
    2. Working on SDSU Sports Clubs reentry.
  13. Vice President of External Relations: Armando Sepulveda reported on the following:
    1. Working on transition documents for my role.
    2. There is a special election for the 79th Assembly District on April 6. 
    3. Thank you to AJ and Carissa for their presentation today!
  14. Vice President of Financial Affairs: Victor Penera reported on the following:
    1. We are in the middle of the cultural organization budget presentations.
    2. Working on the budget presentations from the A.S. facilities and departments.
    3. We are looking for peers for the Financial Education Peer Program.  
  15. Vice President of University Affairs: Crystal Sanchez reported on the following:
    1. Working with the College Council Presidents regarding transition.
    2. Working on closed captioning for the students in which English is not their first language.
  16. Executive Director:  Christina reported on the following:
    1. Provided information on the appointment position process in the respective Campus Life Council commissions.

IX.  ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  1. Dr. Dooley thanked Associated Students and the Viejas Arena team for their support and hospitality to operate the San Diego County Vaccination site there. Dr. Dooley also announced that anyone who has an underlying medical condition is eligible for a vaccine.  
  2. Simran announced that Max Johnson, Michael Wiafe, and herself will be speaking at a webinar at 11:00 a.m. by California Forward.
