VI.  UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. SDSU Vice President for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: Dr. Andrea Dooley reported on the following:
    1. Provided updates regarding in - person classes and possible in- person, safe experiences this semester.
    2. Provide a surveillance testing update.
    3. SDSU received permission from the State of California to be a distribution site for COVID - 19 vaccines.
    4. The COVID - 19 Weekly Digest is a resource with beneficial information that is published every Friday. 
    5. I am happy to support you all. Please let me know if there is anything I can assist with.
  2. Adaptive Athletics Presentation - Mark Zakrzewski, Aztec Recreation Director and Ahkeel Whitehead, School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences ( Time Certain 4:00 P.M Ahkeel Whitehead and Mark Zakrzewski presented on the SDSU Adaptive Athletics program as it transitions to Aztec Recreation from the School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences starting March 2021.

  1. Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB): ASUB is hosting an info session on February 23 for  those who want to be involved in ASUB Committees. We will have a lot of virtual events  coming up. The Nooner is posted on Instagram. We are working on the upcoming  GreenFest event and are holding outdoor yoga classes on the 3rd floor Aztec Student  Union Terrace. 
  2. Campus Community Commission (CCC): CCC is working on Campus Safety, working  with Student Affairs and Campus Diversity regarding Sophomore Success, and working  with Johnny the Good Neighbor Program.  
  3. Community Service Commission (CSC): Elected the new CSC Secretary. Working with  Claudia Martinez and Chelsea Winter for their Education Career Fair on March 18.  Random Acts of Kindness Week will be in April. 
  4. Recreation and Wellness Commission: ARC Outdoors and virtual programs continue.  ARC construction is going strong. Working on Mental Health Week with Ezra and Student  Support Commission. 
  5. Student Diversity Commission (SDC): The A.S. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)  Climate Survey is sent out. Please complete it if you have not yet.  
  6. Student Support Commission (SSC): Working on Mental Health Week. The Commuter  Student Board meets at noon on Wednesdays. The Food Pantry has customized offerings.  There is an Economic Crisis Response Team (ECRT) Basic Needs Advocate Training.  CalFresh Week is coming up.  
  7. Sustainability/Green Love Commission: We are collaborating with the cultural centers,  working on updating the website, and working on sustainable investment. The next Green  Lunch Bag Series will be about zero waste.  
  8. Campus Life Council Students-at-Large: Planning our coffee chats and working on Mental Health Week.
  9. Marketing and Communications Commission:

    Beth reported on the following: Working on website.

  10. Board of Directors Student-at-Large:

    1. Ashley provided an update regarding Women’s Rowing and the Activity 45 Strategic  Plan Committee focusing on equity gaps in the classroom. 

  11. Executive Vice President: Bella Martelino reported on the following:

    1. Please attend the A.S. Student Leader Mixer! 

    2. Aztec Achievement Awards nominating applications are available until March 1.

  12. President:

    Christian Holt reported on the following: 

    1. Great work to Crystal and Armando to assist with having “Credit/No Credit” passed at  the University Senate for all COVID months. 

    2. Working with Rose Pasenelli regarding the CARES funding. 

    3. SDSU received 300 COVID vaccines. 

  13. Vice President of External Relations: Armando Sepulveda reported on the following:

    1. Working on Mental Health Week. 

    2. California Higher Education Student Summit (CHESS) applications close on February  15. 

    3. California State Student Association (CSSA) Plenary is this weekend.

    Vice President of Financial Affairs: Victor Penera reported on the following: 
    1. Working on the A.S. budget & Five Year plan.

      2. Continuing to work and promote the Financial Education Peer Program.

  15. Vice President of University Affairs: Crystal Sanchez reported on the following:
    1. Your Voice Matters push week will be the week of March 1st.  
  16. Executive Director: No Report.
