V. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS
- SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Designee: None.
- Virtual Programming Presentation – Aztec Student Union Board Leaders: Jacinda Molina, ASUB Commissioner, and Veronica Perondi, Assistant Director of A.S. Programs, presented on virtual programming, focusing on the history of programming and transition to a
virtual environment.

VII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS
- Aztec Student Union Board (ASUB): Our meetings are Mondays at 1:00pm. Our next “Live with the Leader” will be posted on ASUB’s Instagram account. We have our Aztec Nights event this Saturday (10pm to 2am).
- Campus Community Commission (CCC): We met with Carissa and Ari last week for collaboration ideas. We have reached out to students who expressed interest in CCC to invite them to our meeting. Will also invite resident advisors with to our meeting. Meeting with Christian and Bella this week.
- Community Service Commission (CSC): Last week was our first meeting and it was good to see so many students. Will have ‘Hello Time’ and ‘Goodbye Time‘ at our meetings weekly. Will have Rock the Vote updates at our meeting.
- Recreation and Wellness Commission: Had our first meeting this week and had a lot of returning members and new members, including transfer students. ARC Outdoors is still open and operating with a limited capacity. Mission Bay Aquatic Center continues to be
open if you want to take a break and be out on the water. The ARC construction has a live feed via the ARC website.
E. Student Diversity Commission (SDC): We are finishing interviews for those interested in SDC. We are reaching out to cultural organizations to attend our meeting. SDC meetings are Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. We have been preparing for the year and working on how we can reach students virtually.
F. Student Support Commission (SSC): Dustin Adkins came to our meeting to discuss the SDSU Economic and Crisis Response Team (ECRT) and we are working on a resource video for ECRT. We are emailing service organizations inviting them to SSC. If you know anyone interested in the Commuter Student Board, please let me know and I will connect
them with Kehila, the chair. We would love to collaborate with other commissions regarding mental health. - Sustainability/Green Love Commission: We had our meeting today and we are getting many new members attending the meetings. Working on functionality of spaces for new students. Have been collaborating with Victor regarding zero waste, planning an event with Armando regarding Rock the Vote, and with Enviro-Business and Entrepreneurship Society for another event. Will work with the Identity Centers for our events, as well.
- Campus Life Council Students-at-Large: Great to see everyone. We would love to assist with the mental health event/project. We want to implement ‘coffee chats’ for students who are interested in A.S. or any questions regarding A.S. in an informal setting. Would like to connect a philanthropic organization to have an act or speaker at the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre. Will contact Christina.
- Marketing and Communications Commission: None.
- Board of Directors Student-at-Large:
- Ashley is meeting with Armando regarding the A.S. internal newsletter, especially between Councils to connect all of us. I am asking all of you to send me any events you have coming up after October 5 for our pilot newsletter. Working on a ‘Member
Spotlight’ in the newsletter. - Abi would love an event to teach people how to make blankets, especially during Mental Health Week. Will connect with Green Love regarding their DIY week.
- Antonio thanks all for everything they are doing, especially when it comes to planning for mental health wellness. Commended Green Love for being welcoming to their new students.
- Ashley is meeting with Armando regarding the A.S. internal newsletter, especially between Councils to connect all of us. I am asking all of you to send me any events you have coming up after October 5 for our pilot newsletter. Working on a ‘Member
- Executive Vice President: Bella Martelino reported on the following:
- Aztec Nights: They have been doing amazing events, like the Comedy Night with Tiffany Haddish. They had 1,000 attendees. We are looking forward to more successful virtual programming, especially with Homecoming.
- Working with Strategic Planning Committees regarding accessibility. May reach out to you all for input and if anyone is interested in working with me, let me know.
- We gained 350 followers on Instagram.
- Homecoming – We were going to have a Spirit Week in the fall (mid-November), now with the virtual spring semester announced; we are reevaluating how this will look.
- President:
- My office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1pm. If there are student concerns, please have them stop by.
- Student Success Fee conversations are starting up and the process will roll out this semester for those students or student organizations who have an academic project that requires funding
- The Strategic Plan committees have also started. Please take notes to exchange information.
- Please rename yourselves on Zoom with preferred pronouns.
- Vice President of External Relations: Armando Sepulveda reported on the following:
- Constitution Day is tomorrow with a special guest, Benjamin Franklin, who will host a game. Students have a possibility to win a $30 gift card.
- Please register to vote on the link on the Rock the Vote Instagram page. Please follow us!
- The CSSA Plenary is this weekend. Feel free to review the agenda and let me know if you have any questions.
- Vice President of Financial Affairs: Victor Penera reported on the following:
- Aztecs Rock Hunger (ARH) Updates: It is two weeks away! We have been working hard this summer. This campaign is very different this year as everything is virtual. Donate via Venmo, virtual food pantry, on-campus Starbucks and eateries. We will
have a virtual 5K this year too. The goal is 650,000 pounds and we need you now more than ever to assist. Please invite me to speak at all of your commissions regarding the campaign. - Financial Literacy: There is an event this Friday regarding financial literacy and you can get a gift card to Philz Coffee.

- Vice President of University Affairs: Crystal Sanchez reported on the following:
- Spring semester will be virtual, according to Chancellor White. If anyone has any academically, please let me know, as I will be meeting with the Provost this Friday. The Provost’s Office created an online form called “We Want to Hear from You”.
- Margot, the Your Voice Matters Assistant, started this week.
- I encourage you to collaborate with the College Councils.
- Executive Director: Christina Brown reported on the following:
- Congratulations to Giselle Luevanos, Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, who had her baby girl at 3:32 a.m. this morning.
- Although the spring semester was announced to be virtual for the spring semester, we will continue to be successful in student life, whether it is virtual or in-person. We will be ready to adjust and adapt to anything.
- The 10/31-11/2 poll site will be at the Viejas Arena. In addition, the Viejas Arena will also be a training site for poll workers.
VIII. ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Christian announced that the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center is now a campus COVID testing site. They have moved from the parking lot on Alvarado Road to the Alumni Center. There is mandatory testing for all residence halls.
