I. CALL TO ORDER

Executive Vice President Kyla Blaylock called the meeting to order at 4:45 PM.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Randy Timm:
    1. Is happy to answer any questions about the email regarding mumps that was sent out today.
    2. Met with fraternity presidents in regards to the Presidential Taskforce on Student Activities and Safety and was very happy with the conversations. 
    3. In the search for the new University Vice President of University Relations. 

VII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

VIII. REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Kyla Blaylock, Executive Vice President:
    1. Spoke about A.S. and A.S. elections at the SDSU Leadership Summit two weekends ago.
    2. Attended the Laurels for Leaders Luncheon with Angie and Christian today and had the opportunity to speak to high-school student body presidents from San Diego area.
    3. Aztec Achievement Awards (AAAs) nominations close on Sunday. 
    4. Will be scheduling meetings with A.S. leaders to help them prepare for transition. 
  2. Christian Onwuka, President:
    1. An Open Forum regarding the Strategic Plan “Students at our Core” is on Friday, February 28th from 1:00-3:30 pm in Love Library 430. Encouraged everyone to attend and provide input.
    2. Opening of the Healing Native and Indigenous Garden is Saturday, March 21st. Encouraged everyone to show support.
    3. Thanked everyone that attended the constituency meetings for the University Vice President for the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity. Will be meeting tomorrow to discuss the feedback. 
  3. Angelica Espinoza, Vice President of External Relations:
    1. The 2020 delegation for this year’s California Higher Education Student Summit (CHESS) has been selected. Will advocate for eleven bills with students from SDSU’s Main Campus and SDSU’s Imperial Valley Campus. 
    2. There is an A.S. Rock the Vote (RTV) event on Election Day in the Union Courtyard. 
    3. Lobby Corps is planning more district visits. 
    4. Attending the Change the Status Quo: Social Justice Leadership Conference with Student Diversity Commission Representative, Aubrey Benito, this weekend. 
    5. Excited that the Governor’s recommendation for the CSU Trustee is an SDSU student.  
    6. Will be emceeing for Environmental Justice Day during GreenFest.  
    7. Reminded everyone that the primary elections are on March 3rd and that California has same-day voter registration available. 
  4. Dustin Adkins, Vice President of Financial Affairs: 
    1. Received student feedback at the parking focus groups last week regarding parking and transportation on campus. The feedback was submitted to the consultant to work with Parking Services.
    2. Aztecs Rock Hunger (ARH) is saying thanks to the communities that participated this year and is working on increasing marketing throughout the year to show donors the programs that their funds are supporting. 
    3. Financial Affairs Committee (FAC) is reviewing the College Council’s and cultural organization’s budgets. 
  5. George Scott, Vice President of University Affairs: Christian reported on his behalf:
    1. Working on finalizing the Academic Report to make sure that it is as comprehensive as possible. 
    2. Continuing the conversations with College Council Presidents regarding student representation in the University Senate. 
  6. Antonio Marquez-Camacho, ASBOD Student-at-Large: 
    1. Thanked everyone for showing their support for the opening of the Latinx Resource Center. 
    2. Yesenia Sanchez Garcia, Assistant Director of the Latinx Resource Center at SDSU, will be a guest speaker at the Education Without Borders (EWB) meeting next Wednesday.
    3. Will be attending the Associate Collegiate Press Conference in San Francisco with the Daily Aztec this week. 
    4. 4Attending the Intercollegiate Broadcast System Awards this weekend with KCR.
    5. Working with Fabiola Moreno, who reached out to EWB to create a scholarship  for undocumented students.
  7. Cassie Weinberg, ASBOD Student-at-Large:
    1. Self-Care Day is next week and there are very cool organizations involved! Encouraged everyone to attend.
  8. Christian Holt, ASBOD Student-at-Large:
    1. Working on the Men of Color Survey with Adam Adams and the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Office. 
    2. Meeting with RSOs and Greek Like organizations to plan the human sex trafficking awareness week that will take place in April. 
  9. Christina Brown, Executive Director:
    1. No report. 
  10. Aztec Student Union Board:
    1. Looking to update the ASUB waivers.
    2. Monday Night Movies is March 2nd at 6:30 pm. Will be playing “Knives Out”.
    3. The Rooted event will be during GreenFest and is a great opportunity for students to share the unique ways that they express themselves. 
    4. Sign-Ups are still open for the GreenFest Fashion Show on March 11th.
    5. There are still tickets for the GreenFest concert available. 
  11. Campus Community Commission:
    1. Good Neighbor Clean-Up is this Sunday in collaboration with Greeks Gone Green and the SDSU Greek Life Activities Board (GLAB). 
    2. Volunteering at the Scholastic Book Fair tomorrow at Hardy Elementary School. 
    3. Working to solidify events for the rest of the semester.
  12. Community Service Commission:
    1. Hosting a pop-up service event on March 11th  in collaboration with REO Cares where participants will be able to make hygiene kits. 
    2. CSC Education Fair is March 19th . 
  13. Recreation and Wellness Commission: Kyla reported on their behalf: 
    1. Hosted a “3 V 3” soccer event during the ENS Field Day.
    2. Planning for Self-Care Day.
    3. Aztec Adventures will be going to Joshua Tree and Zion National Park from March 6-8. 
    4. Budget presentation is next week.
  14. Student Diversity Commission: 
    1. The SDC Mixer is tonight after the meeting in Aztec Lanes!
  15. Student Support Commission: 
    1. Will be recording with the Ombudsman tomorrow. Pushing for the video to be released within the next two weeks. 
    2. Planning a tabling event with Chipotle in the Commuter Resource Center for students to learn about the Commuter Student Board. 
  16. Green Love Sustainability Commission:
    1. No report. 
  17. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large:
    1. Working on the A.S. newsletter.
  18. Marketing and Communications Commission: Kyla reported on the commission’s behalf:
    1. Filming the informational video that explains how to vote in A.S. elections this week.
    2. “Spirit Carting” for GreenFest next week!
