Executive Vice President Nickolas Wohlman called the meeting to order at 3:35 PM.

VII.  UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. Sophomore Success Program Presentation (Time Certain 3:45 pm): Kara Bauer, Director of Residential Education, and Cynthia Cervantes, Director of Office of Housing Administration, presented on the Sophomore Success Program and the purpose for the residential implementation of the program. They explained the QUEST program model, which includes leadership and independent living skills, academic and career planning, and high impact learning opportunities. They answered questions and concerns.
  2. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Randy Timm: No report.

VIII.  ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

  1. General Consent Agenda (Action): It was moved and seconded to approve the General Consent Agenda, as attached.

  2. Commissioner Selection Update (Information): Jennifer Esquivel-Parker reminded members that applications for appointed positions are due April 18 at 4 pm in the A.S. office. Please encourage your commission members to apply. Commissioners will be selected the week of April 22. The name of the selected commissioner should be turned in to Jennifer by Friday, April 26.
  3. Selection of CLC Representatives to the Appointment and Review Committee (Action):

    It was moved and seconded to open nominations for Selection of CLC Representatives to the Appointment and Review Committee.

    Max Johnson, Kyla Blaylock, Ashley Tejada, George Scott, and Dustin Adkins were nominated. 

    It was moved and seconded to close nominations for Selection of CLC Representatives to the Appointment and Review Committee.

    All five were approved and will be selected according to their time availability.

IX.  REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Nickolas Wohlman, Executive Vice President:
    1. Encouraged members to attend Mental Health Week events.
    2. Aztec Achievement Awards will take place on April 25 from 5-7 pm.
  2. Chris Thomas, President:
    1. Hector Ochoa has been selected as the Provost and Senior Vice President. His tenure at SDSU will begin on July 2.
    2. The investiture for President Adela de la Torre will take place tomorrow from 2-4 pm at Viejas Arena.
    3. Applications for appointed positions are due April 18. They will be reviewed and approved on April 29.
  3. Michael Wiafe, Vice President of External Relations:
    1. The letter writing campaign for AB390 was a success. He gave an update on other legislative bills.
  4. Christian Onwuka, Vice President of Financial Affairs
    1. Completed budget deliberations.
    2. The high conference funds have been increased by $5,000. Graduate student travel funds have also been increased.
    3. Will review the FAC charter and guidelines.
    4. Gave an update on the “Walk to the Senate”.
  5. Ronnie Cravens, Vice President of University Affairs
    1. The “Your Voice Matters” campaign and Mental Health Week will collaborate on a panel event that will take place April 16 from 5-7 pm in Montezuma Hall.
    2. Gave an update on the library. There will be more space available on the third floor. The roof of the library will be fixed by Fall 2019.
    3. University Affairs Board will meet on Friday at 11 am to compile questions for the panel at the Your Voice Matters and Mental Health Week collaboration.
  6. Cat Kricorian, ASBOD Student-at-Large:  
    1. The marketing video for Recreation and Wellness Commission has been filmed.
  7. Beck Svensson, ASBOD Student-at-Large: None.
  8. Chloe Sabio, ASBOD Student-at-Large: None.
  9. Christina Brown, Executive Director: None.
  10. Aztec Student Union Board:
    1. “Night in the Stars” will take place on April 16 at 7:30 pm.
    2. “Open Mic Night” will take place April 17 from 5-7 pm.
  11. Campus Community Commission:
    1. Will create an action plan with student questions.
  12. Community Service Commission:
    1. Working on Swap Shop.
    2. There will be a Magic Horse Therapeutic Center event on April 18 and 19 from 10 am-5 pm.
    3. There will be a Book Fair on April 27 from 8 – 10:30 am at Balboa Park.
  13. Recreation and Wellness Commission:
    1. The Health Expo was a success.
  14. Student Diversity Commission:
    1. Reminded members to support communities by attending events hosted by cultural centers.
    2. Association of Chicana Activists (AChA) will have a high school conference on Saturday.
    3. Native American Student Alliance (NASA) will have their 47th Annual Pow Wow on Saturday from 12-6 pm on the ENS field.
    4. There will be a discussion circle to address mental health within communities of color.
  15. Student Support Commission:
    1. Met with Well-Being and Health Promotion to include food nudging into the food pantry.
  16. Sustainability Commission:
    1. Swap Shop will take place on April 24. Volunteers are needed.
  17. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large: None.
  18. Marketing and Communications Commission:
    1. They will market the investiture for President Adela de la Torre.
