Executive Vice President Nickolas Wohlman called the meeting to order at 3:35 PM.

VII. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. SDSU Vice President of Student Affairs Designee, Dr. Randy Timm: None.
  2. Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Update (Time Certain: 3:45 pm):
    1. Stephanie Galia informed members of the events during the Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week. 

VIII.  ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

  1. General Consent Agenda (Action):
    It was moved and seconded to approve the General Consent Agenda, as attached.

IX.  REPORTS OF CAMPUS LIFE COUNCIL MEMBERS

  1. Nickolas Wohlman, Executive Vice President:
    1. Discussed the costume contest.
    2. The A.S. BBQ will take place tomorrow, November 1 from 5-7 pm.
    3. Will continue to plan for Mental Health Week in February. 
  2. Chris Thomas, President:
    1. Gave an update on the Tommy Spaulding event on November 14. There will be a keynote 3-4 pm and an All-Council Training 5-8 pm.
    2. There will be an UndocAlly Training on November 9 from 10 am – 12 pm and November 20 from 1 pm – 3pm.
    3. The Provost Search Committee had an open forum last week to hear feedback from students. The search will begin soon and be completed in March.
    4. A.S. Study Abroad Packets are due November 7 at 4 pm.
    5. Gave an update on the Aztec Culture Education.
  3. Michael Wiafe, Vice President of External Relations:
    1. California State Student Association (CSSA), Fresno was amazing!
    2. There are six days left for the Rock the Vote campaign.
    3. Will attend CSSA, San Luis Obispo on November 9-11 with six other students.
  4. Christian Onwuka, Vice President of Financial Affairs:
    1. FAC has begun reviewing rebudgets.
    2. Will review the Quarter 1 financials on Monday of Board of Directors.
    3. Met with cultural organizations last Wednesday to review their budgets and additional funding opportunities.
    4. Had discussions on the Student Success Fee.
    5. The Aztecs Rock Hunger announcement will take place at 11 am in the Student Union on November 15. 
  5. Ronnie Cravens, Vice President of University Affairs:
    1. Reviewed previous University Council Meeting and discussion on the Provost Search and Executive Order 1100.
    2. Gave an update on issues of transportation and academic affairs that will be addressed during the “Your Voice Matters” campaign.
    3. Academic Affairs Committee went well.
    4. The 24/7 area in the library has been expanded to both floors. 
  6. Cat Kricorian, ASBOD Student-at-Large:
    1. Will continue filming marketing videos next week.
  7. Beck Svensson, ASBOD Student-at-Large:
    1. Gave an update on BlackBoard Allies.
    2. Will continue to have advising discussions.
  8. Chloe Sabio, ASBOD Student-at-Large:
    1. Will work on building a home in Tijuana.
    2. Gave a shoutout to Student Support for their care for students. 
  9. Christina Brown, Executive Director:
    1. None. 
  10. Aztec Student Union Board:
    1. Gave an update on Campus Moviefest.
    2. “State’s Best Dance Crew” will be next Tuesday at 7 pm in Montezuma Hall.
    3. Open Mic Night and Giving Thanks events will take place next Thursday at 7 pm in the Union Courtyard.
    4. The Program Supervisor position is being filled.
    5. Will approve Spring events next Monday. 
  11. Campus Community Commission:
    1. Good Neighbor Clean-Up will take place Sunday, November 4 at 10 am. We will meet in the Student Union.
    2. Will create a pamphlet for students moving into the community.
    3. Gave an update on the roundtable discussions about the Red and Black Shuttle.
  12. Community Service Commission:
    1. Will host pop-up service events.
    2. There will be an event to sign cards for veterans on November 8 from 11 am – 1 pm in front of the Bookstore.
    3. Will look to collaborate with other commissions.
  13. Recreation and Wellness Commission:
    1. Informed members of the Meningitis B clinics.
    2. Will have a cooking class with Rainbow Ramen next Wednesday from 11 am – 1 pm at Scripps Cottage.
    3. There will be a Barre Above certification.
    4. There will be an architect update next week.
  14. Student Diversity Commission:
    1. The SDCelebration will take place November 29 at 5 pm in the Courtyard.
  15. Student Support Commission:
    1. Discussing issues on-campus during their meetings such as the lighting on campus and increasing vegan options.
    2. Will collaborate with Career Services on Events. There will be a resume workshop tomorrow from 11 am – 12 pm in SSE-1200. 
  16. Sustainability Commission:
    1. None. 
  17. Campus Life Council Student-at-Large:
    1. None.
  18. Marketing and Communications Commission:
    1. Contact Ryan Du for help with marketing events.
    2. Will look for a social media chair.
