I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. President Tarek Morsy called the meeting to order at 3:41 p.m. 

II. ROLL CALL

VI. PRESENTATIONS AND UNIVERSITY REPORTS

  1. Business and Financial Affairs Designee, Jessica Rentto, reported on the following: Welcomed everyone back from spring break. Students should have received an email encouraging them to participate in the bi-annual sexual violence climate survey. 
  2. University President’s Designee, Brittany Santos-Derieg, reported on the following: None.

     It was moved and seconded to approve the Rapid Bus Lanes Letter of Support as amended.

IX. EXECUTIVE REPORTS

  1. A.S. President, Tarek Morsy: Focusing on succession planning for next year’s executive board. Engaging in ongoing negotiations with Career Services about the relationship between their department and Career Advantage. 
  2. Executive Vice President, Sam Lingao: Explore SDSU is this coming weekend. All volunteers will receive an email reminder from Philip, the A.S. Chief of Staff, that will include more details of what to expect. There are more time slots that need to be filled. Be sure to RSVP for the Aztec Achievement Awards on April 25th. The final All Council will be on May 1st. Everyone should begin planning their succession/transition plans. 
  3. Vice President of External Relations, Melvin Ridley III: No report. 
  4. Vice President of Financial Affairs, Leo Pena: ‘Thursdays Together’ will be Einstein’s Bagels this week at 11:30 a.m. Working on determining the details for how students will apply for the Oaxaca scholarship grant. The Financial Affairs Committee has been working to use all travel funds and campus program funding to maximize student events being held. 
  5. Vice President of University Affairs, Ally Gallant: The three options for the College of Arts and Letters dean search committee have been sent to the University President and Provost and from there they will choose the new dean. Tarek Morsy and Ally will be speaking at an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Panel this Friday. At the University Council this week Dr. McCall will come to speak about the new transfer unit requirements. 
  6. Executive Director, Christina Brown: In the next three weeks there will be important information items as the year begins to wrap up. The watch party for SDSU’s Sweet Sixteen was successful. There will be a feasibility survey released in the coming weeks regarding a potential remodel to the Viejas Arena. 

X. BOARD OF DIRECTOR STUDENT AT LARGE REPORTS

  1. Student-at-Large, Kailey Quezada: The Hispanic Serving Institution office is working on recertification paperwork for the Seal of Excelencia. 
  2. Student-at-Large, Gianna Salazar: No report
  3. Student-at-Large, Derrick Herrera: No report. 
  4. Student-at-Large, Patricio Silva: No report. 
  5. Student-at-Large, Palni Bhatt: No report. 
  6. Student-at-Large, Alex Inglis: No report.

XI. ANNOUNCEMENTS 

  1. Palni Bhatt announced that Ignite SDSU will be having a Women in Politics event on Friday from 11-2 p.m. in the Student Union.
