I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. Executive Vice President Sam Lingao called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.

IX. EXECUTIVE REPORTS

  1. A.S. President, Tarek Morsy: No report. 
  2. Executive Vice President, Sam Lingao:.The Career Advantage event on 2/20 is named “Courtside Chats with Recent Alumni”.  Please attend. The event has been moved to Montezuma Hall due to rain. On Friday, Imperial Valley A.S. representatives will be visiting and touring campus. The Aztec Achievement Award nomination applications are open. Please consider applying for yourself or others. Looking for students to attend an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit that San Diego State University is hosting. 
  3. Vice President of External Relations, Melvin Ridley III: The Rock the Vote Vote-a-Palooza event had around 200 attendees. The California State Student Association (CSSA) Plenary was engaging this week and there is a draft of a resolution being worked on regarding a ceasefire in Gaza. Today is the last day to register to vote in California. 
  4. Vice President of Financial Affairs, Leo Pena: No report. 
  5. Vice President of University Affairs, Ally Gallant: The University Council passed the Gaza Ceasefire Resolution. In the University Senate tomorrow Tarek will be reviewing and introducing the resolution. Ally is on the College of Arts and Letters search committee. The Your Voice Matters push week was last week and the submission form received over fifty submissions, the University Affairs board will begin to go through the submissions to identify trends. March 6th is approaching and attendance is required. The Student Success Fee review committee is searching for individuals to assist in allocating funds through the review committee.  
  6. Executive Director, Christina Brown: No report. 

X. BOARD OF DIRECTOR STUDENT AT LARGE REPORTS

  1. Student-at-Large, Kailey Quezada: Academic Policy and Planning Committee meeting was last Tuesday where the proposed seventh institutional learning opportunity was presented, they proposed collaboration with other Senate committees before approving it. Hoping to get the learning outcome approved before fall semester. Holding information sessions with the Hispanic Serving Institution board to recruit new members.
  2. Student-at-Large, Gianna Salazar: No report.
  3. Student-at-Large, Derrick Herrera: Last week the collaboration event with the Native Resource Center and the Greenlove Commission. Next week is Greenfest. There is a volunteer form for the Greenfest week that will be distributed to representatives throughout A.S. 
  4. Student-at-Large, Patricio Silva: The SDSU Leadership Summit is this weekend and the Equal Opportunity Program office was able to sponsor ten students to attend. 
  5. Student-at-Large, Palni Bhatt: The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Senate committee discussed kailey’s proposed seventh institutional learning outcome and there will be continued conversations. 
  6. Student-at-Large, Alex Inglis: No report.

XI. ANNOUNCEMENTS 

  1. Kailey Quezada announced that there will be an information session about the Hispanic Serving Institution student advisory board on Friday at 12 p.m. through Zoom.
