A.S. President Tarek Morsy called the meeting to order at 3:37 p.m.

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda for October 23, 2023.

  3. A.S. Career Advantage Update - Tarek Morsy, A.S. President
    A.S. President Tarek Morsy expanded on the updates to the Career Advantage initiative and received feedback from the Board of Directors regarding the marketing and signage for the event. 

VIII. EXECUTIVE REPORTS 

  1. A.S. President, Tarek Morsy: No report. 
  2. Executive Vice President, Sam Lingao: No report. 
  3. Vice President of External Relations, Melvin Ridley III: Currently recording marketing materials encouraged students to register to vote. Helping prepare for Homecoming’s promotional events and materials. Hoping to get local assembly members and councilmen to come to Rock the Vote events to promote civic engagement. 
  4. Vice President of Financial Affairs, Leo Pena: The Aztecs Rock Hunger fundraiser at BJ’s this week will be the La Mesa location. No huge fundraising events this week. ARH Pie Day went very well and a lot of money was raised for Aztecs Rock Hunger. Interfraternity Council (IFC) push day will be on Wednesday. Aztecs Rock Hunger Fun Run will be on 11/4 at 9 a.m. and will start in the student union courtyard. 
  5. Vice President of University Affairs, Ally Gallant: College of Engineering has been doing great work recently by holding their annual Pumpkin Drop event and winning two outstanding awards at an Engineering College Council Conference this week. College of Business and College of Engineering are both having career fairs and it is good to give support to college councils who are working hard. 
  6. Executive Director, Christina Brown: No report. 

IX. BOARD OF DIRECTOR STUDENT AT LARGE REPORTS

  1. Student-at-Large, Kailey Quezada: The Pechanga event had a good turn out. The Hispanic-Serving Institution board is proposing an eighth institutional learning outcome to teach students what a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion means. 
  2. Student-at-Large, Gianna Salazar: SDSU catering allows for employees to spend $9 on shifts at the market and Shops have suspended the ability to donate to Aztecs Rock Hunger via the concession stands.
  3. Student-at-Large, Derrick Herrera: No report. 
  4. Student-at-Large, Patricio Silva: Campus Community Commission is planning a good neighborhood clean up for 11/2. The Student Support Commission is looking to change its bylaws to create a permanent marketing position. 
  5. Student-at-Large, Palni Bhatt: No report. 
  6. Student-at-Large, Alex Inglis: No report.
