I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. President Shawki Moore called the meeting to order at 3:38 p.m. 

II. ROLL CALL

  3. Non-Voting Members Present: Isabella Todd, Christina Brown, Dr. Aniesha Mitchell
  4. Non-Voting Members Absent: Dr. J. Luke Wood
  5. Guests: None.

III. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

It was moved and seconded to approve the agenda for February 20, 2023.

IV. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was moved and seconded to approve the Board of Directors meeting minutes of 2/6/23.

V. PUBLIC COMMENT- None. 
VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS 

  1. Business and Financial Affairs Designee, Jessica Rentto: No report.
  2. University President’s Designee, Dr. Aniesha Mitchell and Dr. J. Luke Wood: The alternative consultation forum is ongoing for the proposed fee. There have been four forums so far but attendance was minimal.

    It was moved and seconded to approve the General Consent Agenda.

    It was moved and seconded to approve the proposed amendments to the A.S. Elections Code and Bylaws.

IX. BOARD OF DIRECTOR COMMITTEE REPORTS 

  1. Audit Committee: None.
  2. Facilities Committee: None.
  3.  Financial Affairs Committee (FAC): None.
  4. Marketing and Communications Committee: None.

X. ECECUTIVE REPORTS 

  1. President, Shawki Moore:
    There will be an A.S. All Council meeting on Wednesday where council members will have the opportunity to give feedback to the Campus Fee Advisory Committee (CFAC) about the newly proposed fee.
  2. Executive Vice President, Meena Alexander:
    The Aztec Achievement Awards (AAA) application is open. Meena encouraged board members to nominate somebody they know.  
  3. Vice President of External Relations, Robson Winter: 
    California Higher Education Student Summit (CHESS) is underway and Lobby Corps has chosen their delegates. Robson is working with the Marketing and Communications Committee to promote A.S. elections. 
  4. Vice President of Financial Affairs, Sophia Koch:
    Sophia is working with the Student Support Commission (SSC) to merge the swipe share promotion with Aztecs Rock Hunger. The main concern surrounding the food pantry is to make sure they have enough room for perishable food. 
  5. Vice President of University Affairs, Sandy Mekany:
    No report. 
  6. Executive Director, Christina Brown: 
    The Safety Manager position was posted to the Associated Students website. Mark Peterson, the new University Police Department (UPD) Emergency Services  Officer is looking to focus on updating the active shooter protocol.

  1. Shawki Moore just returned from New York City and was excited to see everyone.
