I. CALL TO ORDER

A.S. President Ashley Tejada called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m. PDT.

VI. UNIVERSITY REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

  1. Business and Financial Affairs Designee:  No report.
  2. University President’s Designee: No report.
  3. Introduction of Marc Otto, Founder and Principal Consultant of Strength Consulting LLC (Time Certain 5:00 p.m.) - Meeting adjourned prior to the arrival of Marc Otto.

VII. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION

  1. General Consent Agenda (Action)
    It was moved and seconded to approve the General Consent Agenda of 9/13/21 which included minutes from the Financial Affairs Committee (8/30/21).

  2. General Consent Report (Information)
    The General Consent Report was reviewed, which included minutes of the Judicial Affairs Council (9/3/21). 
  3. Selection of A.S. Board of Directors Student-at-Larges for ASJAC Vacancy Ad-Hoc Committee (Action):
    It was moved and seconded to approve Shawki Moore as the primary representative and Stephen Jackson as the secondary representative for the ASJAC Vacancy Ad-Hoc          Committee.

  4. 2020-21 A.S. Financial Audit Presentation and Approval (Action) - Marla Hummel, Grant Thorton (Time Certain 3:45 p.m.)
    Marla Hummel (Grant Thorton) and Carlos Careaga, A.S. Finance Director, presented the 2020-21 A.S. Financial Audit of the Associated Students organization.
    It was moved and seconded to approve the 2020-21 A.S. Financial Audit, as presented.

IX. BOARD OF DIRECTORS COMMITTEE REPORTS

  1. Audit Committee: None.
  2. Facilities Committee: None.
  3. Financial Affairs Committee (FAC): The Campus Program Funding (CPF) Committee approved $6,000 of CPF funding.  We have a bonding event at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center (MBAC) this Thursday.  
  4. Marketing and Communications Committee: There is an open Secretary position on MarComm.  

X. EXECUTIVE REPORTS: 

  1. President: Ashley Tejada reported on the following:
    1. The first ‘Lemonade with President Adela de la Torre’ on 8/23 was a success.
    2. Attended the Senate Executive Committee (SEC) meeting.
    3. Attended an orientation for the Campus Fee Advisory Committee (CFAC).
    4. Collaborated with Heriberto Vasquez regarding graduate student insurance.
  2. Executive Vice President: Karina Esteban reported on the following:
    1. There is an A.S. Mixer on 9/15 from 2-3:30 p.m. on how to get more involved in A.S. Government.
    2. The first Campus Life Council meeting is this Wednesday.
    3. Chairing the Homecoming Steering Committee.
    4. Meeting with the Cultural Centers with Shawki.
    5. Working on GreenFest.  
  3. Vice President of External Relations: Shawki Moore reported on the following:
    1. There is a California State Student Association (CSSA) Plenary this weekend and we are finalizing the policy agenda.  
    2. A.S. External Relations Board (ERB) had their first meeting today.  We are working to streamline advocacy efforts.
    3. Consistently working on growing the A.S. followers. 
    4. Rock the Vote (RTV) Leadership Team is educating via Instagram and tabling regarding the Gubernatorial Election, which is tomorrow, September 14.  
    5. Constitution Day is this Friday and there is an event at Templo Mayor at noon.  
  4. Vice President of Financial Affairs: Austin Barber reported on the following:
    1. The Financial Affairs Committee (FAC) met today for the first time.
    2. Working on the Aztecs Rock Hunger (ARH) campaign.
    3. Met with College Councils with Carlos Careaga regarding their budgets and funding policies.
  5. Vice President of University Affairs: Jennifer Schenkenfelder reported on the following:
    1. University Affairs Board (UAB) will be meeting this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Due to the Senate meeting last week, this will be UAB’s first meeting.
    2. At the Academic Affairs Committee meeting, the College Council Presidents shared their Council goals and Veronica Perondi, A.S. Assistant Director of Programs presented on event programming.
    3. Working with Associate Vice President Joanna Brooks and Mike Borgstrom.
    4. Met with Dean Scott Walter of the Library.
    5. Your Voice Matters (YVM) Push-Week is 9/27-10/1.  
  6. Executive Director:  Christina Brown reported on the following:
    1. Please let me know if there is a certain speaker or topic you think the A.S. Leaders would want to have at the Council meetings.
    2. Heriberto Vasquez resigned as President of the Graduate Student Association.  Darren Wilson is the interim President.  There will be a town hall regarding the graduate student health insurance requirement.

XI. REPORTS OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBERS:

  1. Stephen Jackson reported that he is working on a community service portal with Nina Go of the Community Service Commission.  MarComm will assist in promoting it.
  2. Margot reported that she is working with Jacq Banal of the Campus Community Commission in regards to a Good Neighbor Program Clean Up.  She is also assisting the College of Engineering working on speakers for their Council meetings.

XII. ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

  1. Latin Heritage Month starts on Wednesday, September 15.  Follow the SDSU Latinx Resource Center Instagram (@sdsulrc).
  2. There is a Shared Governance Town Hall on Thursday, September 30, sponsored by Your Voice Matters and External Relations Board.
  3. Tomorrow, the Economic Crisis Response Team (ECRT) will be handing out Chipotle burritos in the Courtyard at 1:40 p.m.
