Section 20 - Collection and Disbursement of Student Activity Fee Funds

The purpose of this agreement is to ensure efficient budget management and financial control of Student Activity Fee (i.e. - Student Body Association Fee) funds in accordance with Education Code SECTION89302 and Title 5 section 42403 of the California Code of Regulations.

University Responsibilities

  1. San Diego State University (University) will collect the approved student activity fees as part of the normal registration payment and accounts receivable processes for regular and special session courses.
  2. University will deposit student activity fees to the campus Trust Fund.
  3. University will, upon receipt of appropriate claim schedules (but no less than monthly) disburse to AS from accumulated net student activity fees. Accumulated net student activity fees will be cash receipts less dishonored items, refunds and forfeitures.
  4. University will, at least annually, provide the AS a report reconciling activity fee receipts and payments to the official regular and special session enrollment.

Associated Students Responsibilities

  1. Associated Students will reimburse University for collection services related to the activity fee.
  2. AS agrees to comply with the Custodianship Procedures (in which provisions for approval of claim schedules by the custodian designated by the University’s Chief Fiscal Officer are delineated).
  3. AS agrees to comply with the University budget review policy and understands that no disbursements from campus Trust will be made until the University President has approved the annual AS budget.
