Section 11.3 - Farewell Events

It is the policy of the Associated Students to host a reception for full-time employees and to provide a gift to a part time employee leaving the A.S. after one or more years of service.
FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES
Events for employees with one to three years of service
At the manager/supervisor’s discretion, these events may be either a departmental-only event or one to which all AS full-time employees are invited.
In deciding, consideration should be made of the wishes of the individual departing employee, circumstances of their departure and the scope of contacts the employee had outside their individual department.
Events for employees with more than three years of service
These events must include, at minimum, all AS-full-time employees.
Retirements
Events for retiring employees will be planned on a case-by-case basis with consideration for the years of service and scope of contact the employee had with others.
Reception funding
- Departmental Events: $250
- AS-Wide Events: $375
Gifts
The AS shall provide funding for a farewell gift based on the following formula:
- 1-5 years: $30
- 5-10 years: $60
- 10-15 years: $100
- 15 to 20 years: $125
- 20 years: $200
Funding
Funding for farewell receptions and gifts shall be made from the department’s employee relations fund in accordance with the funding formulas outlined above.
PART-TIME EMPLOYEES
For part-time employees, the minimum service to qualify for a "year" is 390 hours (15 hours per pay period)
Employee must be on payroll at end of a semester to receive gift.
Gifts
The AS shall provide funding for a farewell gift based on the following formula:
- one to two years: $10
- two to three years: $20
- three or more years: $30
