The Greenest GreenFest
This year's GreenFest will be the #GreenestOfAllTime. As we are going into the 10th year of the GreenFest concert and celebrating with the SDSU community the values of Diversity, Sustainability and SDSU Pride, the GreenFest Committee has planned a jam-packed week full of events. GreenFest will be February 25 - March 3.
GreenFest week is kicking off with a screening of “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power” on Sunday, February 25. This film follows Al Gore as he continues his fight for an international climate policy.
Meatless Monday is February 26. In the morning GreenLove will be hosting a Bike and Board Brunch for all those who take alternative modes of transportation to campus. That evening, GreenLove will be educating people on why a meatless diet is beneficial, not just for your body but for the environment, through a fun game of trivia. Attendees will be able to enjoy a variety of plant-based treats.
Tuesday is a day for mindfulness and relaxation with Sunset Yoga on ENS Field.
Wednesday, GreenLove is holding a Green Lunch Bag Series and in the evening, the EnviroFashion Show will highlight students’ creative sustainable fashion designs.
Thursday at the Farmers’ Market, students can get creative with painting their own reusable shopping bags. That evening, SDC will be hosting an International Dance Showcase.
Friday is the big day with the GreenFestival and the Concert. The Festival will have sustainable activities and rides by Global Inheritance and will have a performance stage for student bands. Right after the festival ends, the GreenFest Concert starts. While the opener and headliner will be announced in February, the student concert opener is A.S.'s very own D.Sel (Deion Selma is a UPS Reservations Assistant).
After a week of celebratory and educational events, the GreenFest Committee will be hosting a Community Clean-Up as a way to give back to SDSU Community.
