I'm a junior at SDSU and I have been a member of five different Associated Student groups, holding an executive position on three—including GreenFest’s 2024 Music and Entertainment Chair, Campus Community Commission Good Neighbor Cleanup Chair, and a contributing member of Greenlove. 

As the Sustainability Commission Representative, I plan to increase transportation options for SDSU students. Along with this, as SDSU continues to grow, I plan to prioritize sustainable principles for future development plans. My name is Jack Nelson and I am a Marketing major at San Diego State, running to be your Sustainability Representative. My name is John Ferris, and I’m excited to run for Fowler College of Business Representative. I have high aspirations and a strong drive to lead, collaborate, and make an impact. As Head of Quality Control at a BMW dealership, I gained valuable leadership experience, ensuring efficiency, accountability, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

As an A.S. leader, my goal is to support students facing challenges, both in and outside of the university. I’m Peter Athey and I’m pursuing a Master’s in Computer Engineering here at SDSU. You may know me already, since I spend a lot of time in the 24/7 study area, hard at work (or making friends with everyone!).

In my undergraduate education I worked as a club leader for the UC Merced chapter of Intervarsity. In this role I operated fundraisers, met with staff to discuss how we could better serve students in our organization, as well as planned and hosted social and professional gatherings.

As your representative I will serve as I always have: operating as an intermediary between students to make their voices heard with the university, pushing for educational and safety goals, and helping us look forward.

My goal as an A.S. leader is to foster a strong sense of community on campus. Encouraging others to get involved or try something new has always fascinated me. As a Build a Miracle fundraiser and builder, I have years of experience inspiring people to join an organization that gives back to families in need. Though challenging at times, BAM has shaped me into a leader within and beyond my academic community. As an older sister, I’ve learned patience, compassion, and communication—whether standing up for her in difficult moments or being a role model she admires. Helping others has always been my passion, and I know this council position would enhance my involvement as a commuter, allowing me to contribute meaningfully as an Aztec.

My goal as an A.S. leader would be to create accessible resources for the students who feel isolated and mentally unstable due to the inability to find the options that fit their needs. My past involvement includes being the president of a body image and eating disorder organization, representative of the city council, and captain of two dance teams. My experience as a freshman-first semester at the state allowed me to connect with many students as there were similarities in the struggles of frustration with the unhealthy habits that the school implicitly promotes. I believe with this leadership role, I can contribute to implementing a support system where students can feel their best to healthily excel, and as a result, academically as well.
