Hey! I’m Chris Johnson, and I’m running to be your next Associated Students President. I’m here to bring a new forward-thinking approach to leadership to ensure SDSU’s student body is supported, safe, and heard. My Experience as President of Delta Sigma Phi and as President of the IFC, and my membership on the Men’s Club Volleyball team, have given me the necessary experience to lead the SDSU community of students into a better future. I want to bring much needed improvement to the Health and Safety of this Campus by working with SDSUPD at times of high risk, get more support for students looking to develop their careers, and create more events all students are excited for!

My roles in Associated Students and the Middle Eastern North African Student Association have equipped me with the experience and passion to advocate for the safety and well-being of all students. These experiences have taught me the importance of collaboration, communication, and equity—skills I’ll use to expand campus safety, enhance accessibility through tools like a diction mode for the SDSU Safe app, and promote responsible AI use. I'm Kareen Holstrom, and I’m running for Associated Students President. I’m a third-year Psychology major dedicated to strengthening community by learning student perspectives. I serve on the A.S. Board of Directors and have held leadership roles in Gamma Phi Beta and Rotaract of SDSU. My experience as the A.S. Campus Community Commissioner and working in SDSU Financial Aid and Aztec Shops has expanded my perspective and deepened my commitment to enhancing the student experience.
As your next A.S. President, I plan to advocate for greater visibility of basic needs resources. Doing so, I will prioritize creating stronger campus connections and improving collective leadership to ensure students' voices are prioritized.

Hello SDSU! My name is Milan Rawls, and I’m eager to serve you as Executive Vice President. As a second-year studying both Business Management and Education, I’m dedicated to student advocacy and resource accessibility. As the current A.S. Representative for the College of Education, proxy Senator, Senate committee member, and Kappa Delta’s leadership chair, I intensely prioritize meaningful, timely, and effective change. My initiatives include strengthening first-year and transfer welcoming programs, implementing digital housing keys, hosting winter commencement, enhancing SDSUSafe, and increasing transparency between students, campus police, and other necessary parties. By providing campus resource centers with much needed attention—primarily the Undocumented Resource Center—I strive to promote safety, accessibility, and awareness of all provided services.

I’m Derrick Herrera, and I’m running to be your next Executive Vice President. As a first-generation Native student and current A.S. executive officer, I’ve dedicated myself to amplifying student voices and driving meaningful change through Associated Students and culture-based organizations. My experience putting students first equips me to bring your voice to the table. With three years in A.S. and as a Graduate Student in Public Administration, my commitment runs deep within our SDSU community.
Building on my current momentum, I’ll strengthen our campus by meeting students where they are, expanding cross-campus collaboration, and modernizing safety initiatives. I will push for career-readiness resources like LinkedIn Premium access and ensure students are connected and supported.

Hey SDSU, my name is Austin Emery, and I’m running to be your next Executive Vice President! I'm a second-year political science major and honors minor currently serving as the A.S. Community Service Commission Representative, and as SDSU Rotaract’s Director of Service. In these positions I’ve learned about leadership, time management, and the power of community service to bring people together and get important work done. My priorities include working with the Basic Needs Center to support student needs like food security, advocating for student housing rights, and creating an annual community service competition to promote community service. I’m Abby, a Political Science and Women Studies student dedicated to youth advocacy, and I’m running to be your next Vice President of External Relations. As president of Empowering Women in Law and AS Lobby Corps Chair, I’ve worked to shape policy, connect with government officials, and increase political participation through Rock the Vote.
I will work to bring government officials into student spaces, empowering students to find tangible solutions to the issues they care about. Hello SDSU! My name is Duke Deming, and I am running to be your VP of Financial Affairs. I am a third-year accounting student with leadership experience as the Annotator for the Sigma Chi executive board, VP of Communications for the IFC executive board, and a Rhetoric and Writing Studios Mentor for the SDSU Department. One of my main goals is to oversee an AS budget that financially supports clubs, sports teams, and other student organizations at SDSU. As the head of the financial affairs committee, I will work hard to develop effective strategies that strengthen AS funding and elevate the impact of the Aztecs Rock Hunger food drive. You deserve a financially transparent, student-focused approach to funding. As your next Vice President of Financial Affairs, I’ll work to make finances more accessible. Sitting on the A.S. Board of Directors and the College of Engineering Student Council, I’ve learned how financial resources impact the student experience. I’ll launch “Finance Forward Week” to equip students with financial literacy and post-grad independence.
As a member of Rotaract, Alpha Gamma Delta, SWE, and Sanskriti, I know collaboration drives engagement. I’ll establish financial office hours for individual guidance on funding and resources. I’ll also build on my experience in Aztecs Rock Hunger by partnering with RSOs to expand fundraisers.

I’m Karen Sawouq, and I’m running to be your next Vice President of University Affairs. Being a first-generation Arab student majoring in Political Science and Psychology, while minoring in Leadership Studies, I bring both academic expertise and advocacy experience to amplify your voice inside and outside the classroom.
As Vice Chair of University Affairs Board and former A.S. Your Voice Matters Chair, I’m actively working to integrate an Academic Partnership Agreement into all course syllabi, ensuring increased grading transparency between students and faculty. Additionally, as President of the Middle Eastern North African Student Union, I am committed to developing a strategic framework for a MENA Resource Center on campus.

Hello SDSU! My name is Nadia Gallarzo, and I’m a third-year majoring in International Security and Conflict Resolution running to be your Vice President of University Affairs. As Director of Communications for the ISCOR Student Society, an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Pre-Law Society, and Empowering Women in Law, and an intern for SDSU’s International Affairs Unit, I understand the challenges students face on a daily basis.
Through these experiences, I’ve learned the importance of advocacy and making student voices heard. As VP of University Affairs, I’ll modernize outdated academic processes, improve transparency, by pushing for real-time waitlist tracking, accessible course and professor reviews, course wishlist system, and better study spaces creating a more student-friendly campus.
