Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre History

Historic Photo of the Open Air Theatre

Construction on the “Greek Theatre” began in 1939 with completion and opening on Founder’s Day 1941. The project was managed under the Federal Government’s Works Progress Administration. For many years thereafter, the venue was known as the Open Air Theatre. In 2014, a partnership was formed with the California Coast Credit Union renaming the venue the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre. We host a variety of events from the campus and community including ceremonies, graduations, and lectures as well as concerts ranging from up and coming talent to iconic bands that have stood the test of time.

With fantastic sightlines and awesome sound, we hope you enjoy your visit and look forward to seeing you for many years to come!
