What’s the time commitment for joining A.S.?
The time commitment for joining A.S. ranges depending on what you’re looking to get involved in. The lowest commitment to joining A.S. is attending an hour-long A.S. board, committee and commission meetings listed on our New to A.S. page. You can join as many A.S. board, committee and commission meetings as you would like. From there, your involvement in A.S. increases depending on the leadership position you are interested in.
Why should I get involved?
Getting involved in A.S. is a great way to broaden your community at SDSU, meet new people and create lasting change on campus.
What is the difference between being an A.S. student volunteer and an A.S. student leader?
A.S. student volunteers — have less requirements and obligations than A.S. student leaders. Being an A.S. student volunteer can be as simple as joining an hour-long A.S. board, committee or commission meeting found on our New to A.S. page.
A.S. student leaders — are selected through an election or appointment process typically in the spring semester, with the exception of vacancies. A.S. student leaders have additional obligations and require a larger time commitment. For a list of our current open student leader positions, please refer to the Seeking a Leadership Position Now page.
Are there eligibility requirements to be involved in A.S.?
A.S. student volunteers do not have eligibility requirements to get involved. However, A.S. student leaders do have eligibility requirements which can be found on the A.S. Elections website. Where can I direct my campus-related questions, concerns, comments or suggestions?

The naming dates back to the A.S. government restructure in 2014 but all A.S. board, committees and commissions function the same.
